I wanted to start a new thread since the first round of placements for the Maricopa Community Colleges are soon approaching. Let's continue to encourage each other and keep each other informed by sharing your exciting news about your placement. Since the status page stated that the bulk of the notifications will be from students in the Feb/Mar 09 range, please if at all possible let us know when your date/time stamp is so it can give the rest of us some small indication of where we are in the process.
There are all those slots open because people are deferring or dropping out. Which is good if you have a 6/16/09 date stamp b/c you might get in!!! Fingers crossed :)!
I sure hope that's the case. On October 19th the day of the 2nd placement run, there where over 130 slots opened. After they were done for that day, there were still 66 slots opened. As of today there are 70 slots opened. Just curious how far they will get this time.
Crystal74, where do you see that there are 70 slots open? I am on the Maricopa RN Placement Application sttus page and it shows there are only 3 spots available. One at MCC, and two at GWCC (one accelerated, one regular). Just curious, wondering if I am missing something here :).
they are talking about the "whiteboard" Its only meant for internal staff to use, but somehow got linked to the outside world. I think they have fixed it now so only the MCCD staff can access it from their servers.

Your abolutely right, I just tried to go on whiteboard again and it mysteriously isn't working. It seems as though every placement run someone gets the correct site and posts it and you can see what the staff is seeing. Before it went down about 2 hours ago, it still said there are 70 slots available.
Ah, I figured I was missing some info there! Don't go too crazytrying to analyze things, when its your time, its your time!! I am enjoying every second of my down time b/c I know school is gonna be crazy :)!
Did I understand correctly that you said there are as of today, or on 10-22-10, 70 spots still available? If that's right, then how come it doesn't show up on the placement page for nursing? Does anyone know what time stamp they are up to now? The latest I can find on allnurses is 6/16/09 @ 8:03:50....
Not sure how you would find that out. I have timestamp of 8/14/09 8:00:49 and I don't plan on AT LEAST Fall2011...that's what I'm hoping for, but you never know. There are still a lot of 6/09 timestamps to be placed, as well as previous timestamps that have deferred that will get placed in the Fall.
My date/time is 8:05 etc on 6-16-09 and I did NOT get placed. . Still waiting a little bit impatiently right now.
Wow I cant believe you haven't gotten in yet. When I first applied in August 09 she told me about a 3-4 semester wait and I really dont think there were 2000 people on the list at that time. I called my advisor about a month ago and she said there still may be 2-3 semester wait:-( I cant believe it. I always planned for Fall 2011 and now it seems like that wont even happen. I am so discouraged at this point. With my husbands job we have a tendency to moving from place to place, we have been here since 2008 and all I wanted to do was get into this program.
I cant see the light at the tunnel right now and new grads are claiming there are no jobs. Is it still worth it anymore?:-(
