Wow I just don't know where to start. I thought I would go into my job scared and forgetful. I was wrong I was scared but as the day went on I loosed up and the nurse side came out full force. I work on a rehab unit. It is busy, hectic and very exciting unit. The admissions, discharges, meds, doctors. Hard to believe that I am a nurse i guess
Yeah, it can take time, but it does kick in. I have received my license in June, 2006 and started orientation in July. I am nervous at times, but I keep myself current in many ways. I receive nursing journals and continue to read my pharmacology with pathophysiology textbook in order to associate medications and the disease process. Be patient with yourself when the days are bad, and celebrate your talents when the days are good. I'm still not used to being a nurse, either. I thought that I would have this label in my brain and on my forehead that I am a nurse, but don't quite feel like it at times. Congrats! School taught you well!
