Finishing LPN Program but tons of questions about Bridge to RN

Published

Hi, I looked through quite a few pages of posts before posting this so I hope I am not asking the same questions others have asked, repeatedly! I am currently an LPN student with 14 weeks left in my program. I am looking into the bridge to RN but have heard that here in Oregon we do not have any actual schools. Does anyone know if this is true? Additionally, how long is the program and, if you know, what is the approximate cost? My goal is to eventually receive my BSN and, well, that starts a whole other series of questions...but first things first.

Any helpful direction you can point me in will be much appreciated! I would also like to point out that I would not be that great of an on-line learner and that I have heard rumors that Sumner College may be starting a bridge program in 2015. Thanks!

My state has LPN-RN which takes two years and RN-BSN programs that also take two years. So it takes 4 years, or sometimes 5 if you have to graduate then find a job as an RN then apply to the bridge. But we also have LPN-BSN programs that are 3 years. If you're able to find one of those it will cut out an entire year or two of school and you'll have your BSN immediately, so thats something to think about. Here's a website that lists schools by state that offer those programs.

In my state, the LPN to RN bridge is three semesters or one year long. It depends where you live although personally I can't understand why it should take so long
