Fingerprinting process for FBI and US Dept. of Justice cards

Published

Ah, is that so?

Okay.

I still have a question regarding with one of the requirements for CABON:

*In the Fingerprint Card, what race will I print in the box since only one letter fits the space?

Thanks in advance!

my fp has been with me for over a year now. it was sent to me when i submitted my application to the NJ BON. is it ok that i haven't send it back yet because i am waiting for my CES to be approved? or should i have my fingerprint done and send it immediately?

i strongly beleive that you need to graduate first, then you can request for licensure application in the state of your choice. you get your fp card request in any bon website of your choice. you need to have that fp card filled up by nbi and then mail it along with your application, pictures, copy of your diploma, local license if there is any, and your payments. what you need most is your diploma and tor which should be fill out by your nursing school and mailed directly to the bon of your choice. processing of fingerprint is not your biggest worry right now. try to finish your degree first. don't rush. take your time.

huh? i thought only tor needs to be sent to your bon of choice? if this is the case, i need to fill up the translation form and look for a certified translator because my diploma is written in tagalog and spanish. kindly enlighten me on this. thanks

No, not all State BON needs the diploma. If the State BON you've chosen does not require it, then don't give it. Each State BON has their own requirements.

my friend received her fingerprint card today. She is in batangas. Can she have her card fingerprinted in the NBI office here or should it be done only in Manila?

Thanks a lot!

Any NBI office will do.

Any NBI office will do.

not all... check with your local NBI. But i bet only NBI central will do it for you.

Any NBI office that issues the NBI clearance where they have the fingerprints done can do the fingerprints for the application. It does not make sense, do I have to go to Manila to do the fingerprints? I did mine in the province. It is not a big deal to have your fingerprints and it only needs the signature of the person who helped you with the fingerprint. Been there, done that....

as i told you, not all. I did that here in our province and was told they don't handle those service anymore. I was instructed to go to NBI central in Manila and do the fingerprinting there. Probably during your time, they accept fingerprinting service. Not anymore. we'll at least here in my place.

Can i send two fingerprint cards to California in case the other one won't be accepted? thank you so much!!!

Sure you can but only one is needed and you are only paying for one card (DOJ Sacramento - $32)

CA BRN automatically sends 2 cards already upon request, anyway unlike before when some will get just one card (DOJ card) while others gets both the DOJ and FBI card and there was one time that they allow people to request multiple copies w/ just a small fee

You may send in two if you want to be sure but unless the card was folded or damaged during transport or there were smudges on the fingerprints, it will not be rejected.

And here, I just found the new guidelines on how to properly fill-in the cards:

Hi! I have a question about the fingerprint cards. I'm applying for RN licensure in Maryland, and I got 2 sets of fingerprint cards in my application packet. One is orange and the other one is blue (which is the FBI card I presume). Is the orange one the DOJ one? Because I'm not sure where I should have it done. It is indicated there that the fingerprinting should be accomplished by the CJIS? So, what do I do with it? Should I also bring it to the NBI?

Bring it to NBI as well. No the orange one is not from DOJ if there was nothing indicated that says so. It is prob. a 3rd party company that MD wants.

The f.print cards are only brought to the NBI for fingerprinting purposes only. As in finger printing only. The NBI do not process any of it. They only have your fingers properly printed on the cards and that's it. After which you have to send the cards to the proper authorities to have it processed, and including the fees for it.

There are no fees to have f.printing in the NBI. You only pay the entrance fee of P20 and a small amount after your fingers has been f.printed for the alcohol swab they'll be giving you afterwards.
