Finding out

Published

Hi

I am looking to relocate to Canada with my husband.

I am an RN (Adult) in Scotland at present.

Only in the process of fact finding before we make a positive committment to moving.

Any tips from other nurses who have made the leap?

Would I be best to go through a nursing employment agency or approach the health companies direct?

Thanks in advance.

Mandy

Mandy, you may find the drive from the airport to Red Deer in January enough to scare you off completely! QEII highway is windswept and snow-drifted in January, and cold enough to freeze a witch's heart. It makes no difference whether you fly into Calgary or Edmonton, the trip is about the same distance either way. Having said that, I have two friends working there in the ER. Time will fly for you now, and when you finally get settled it'll feel like you've fallen down the rabbit hole. Best of luck to you!

Really pleased to read your post Mandy!! Hope everything goes well for you. Good luck on that drive - sounds like fun!!:D

Thank you all.

I am expecting the next few months to be quite frustrating, Police check forms gone off today, awaiting LMO so once all of these docs are together the application for TWP will be sent.

I had best start reading up for the CRNE,
