Yes, the experience is a problem to a certain extent. They're usually looking for experience bc only so many new nurses can join a unit at once. I have an interview Monday at one of the hospitals where I've built a relationship with the nurse recruiter. I'm 101% confident I will be selected.
A majority of new grads I've worked with have quit a perfectly good gig within the first year just because they got offended and didn't want to work so hard. People who stay with the manager who hired them are the exception. This is part of the reason why employers have implemented 'new grads not welcome' policies because they calculate if they hire a telemetry nurse with 5 years experience in her previous position then hopefully she will stay at least five years with the new company...

Totatlly understandable but we have to start somewhere. I guess you can't blame them. Feeling good about this ortho/neuro interview I went to though.

Are there any things I should know about finding a job in New Orleans as a new RN grad? I have over 60 apps in and no success. I interviewed two weeks ago but it was a dead end. Also, was offered a position Dec, but couldn't accept because I hadn't passed NCLEX. I recently took it again and passed.
