I am an energetic 59 yr old BSN (with a BA in English). I worked in high risk obstetrics from 1992 - 2004, so have 12 years of nursing experience. I have not worked as a nurse since 2004 (for 16 years) but did keep busy raising a family and volunteering in my kid's schools in many different capacities. I'm eager to return to work, but realize my skills might be rusty. I am leaning towards women's health, but am open to lower stress type jobs that would be willing to provide a thorough orientation. Has anyone had experience or luck returning to the RN workforce after this much time off? Any thoughts on RN positions that I might ease in to at this stage of my career? Nurse refresher courses are another option I've researched. I am in the Seattle area with an active license and completed resume.

You will need a refresher. I'd start there.
