Finally - Great Pants for Male Nursing

After a 14 month search, I think I have found the perfect pants for men in Nursing. They are '5.11 Tactical Pants'. To find a vendor, google '5.11'.

Unlike EMT pants, these pants have immense pockets for carrying anything, but do not have the pockets under the knees as found on EMT pants. There is a real zipper, and large belt loops. You need a web belt which they also make.

Sizes are pretty true, although the material tends to shrink if you wash it in warm/hot water. There are multiple styles to your fit can range from loose/baggy to trim/slim.

The web belt can be extended by using emt carriers, and the pockets easily hold a stethoscope etc. The pants work with a tucked in polo shirt.

The pants do not feel heavy while working, and there is nothing like not having to drop you pants to the floor when watering the trees.

Blue, navy, sandstone, colors available. Worn by the FBI.

I wear Dockers (they go on sale regularly, even in my oddball size) and a Nurse Pro Pack apron. When my shift ends, I take off the apron and throw it in my locker. No unloading pockets. I can come to work from anywhere (not looking like someone carrying diseases on their scrubs), throw on my apron and scope, and I'm ready to rock.

Still gonna stick with Aviator Classics.

I love the landau mens cargo scrubs pants. Many pockets and a zipper.

 I love my Aviators! :yeah:

I gotta put in a plug for my Carhartt carpenter pants. I work in a hospital where casual, "street clothes" are encouraged (as if scrubs aren't casual, I can't count how many times i've heard a nurse say "I love wearing my pajamas to work"). The Carhartts have multiple pockets that hold scissors, alcohol wipes, etc. very well, come in multiple styles, and frankly are much more comfortable than scrubs, especially since they are not drawstring and don't fall down when you put anything heavier than a pen in your pocket.

Scrubs01,

I'm wearing the navy Landau cargos now too and I love them. I'm a big guy and they're comfortable.

i'm a big dude. this info should help greatly. thanks

Ordered some Landaus with the two back pockets, zipper (and a button at the top) and belt loops on sale for $20. A little lightweight, otherwise perfect. Liked the Aviators for the sturdy fabric, liked the built-in nylon belt, didn't like the expense of every little option, and the cargo pockets down by the floor are useless; also didn't like the lack of a left back pocket.

You guys might want to give the Operator Tactical Pants by LA Police Gear a shot. They are like 5.11 tactical pants, but they have more pockets and fit better (for me anyway). They are also cheaper, and the company also makes polo style shirts with a pen pocket on the left sleeve. They are great.

I will stick with my Aviator Classics on the ICU. I wear the 5.11s at my other job as an LEO, nice pants but I'd feel a little odd wearing them in the hospital.
