I'm a Dec. 2010 grad and could not find any job locally and I felt like I was running out of time before I was no longer employable Well I applied to a job in Minot, ND through a recruiting firm. I never thought I would move from the south but this was the best opportunity out there for me as a new grad. If anyone is having a hard time finding work please look into working up there. I know the weather is harsh but they have a good training program and will actually treat you like a person during the interview and hiring process. I got the job along with excellent benefits, moving expenses, and sign on bonus. Super excited to finally work !

Congrats! I keep thinking about the opportunities they have there. I'm still hoping I land something here in the LA area soon, but it's nice to know that there is still hope out there. Were you able to land a position in a specialty area? How about finding a place to live? I heard it's really competitive due to a housing shortage.

Minot is a cute little town. They have two symphonies! Try to live at the top of a hill, though. You'll have more wind but less flooding.

I don't understand why new grads are having issues. I know most of the hospitals here in St. Louis hire new grads for almost every kind of position, management excepted.

I was telling my girlfriend about Minot, ND. She checked it out but said she could never live there. Just not enough for her to do besides work. I think its pretty there myself.
Good luck on your new job and congrats.
