Finally got my graduation date from Excelsior!

Specializes in Telemetry.

OMG....finally. I've been checking Excelsior's website at least 10 times a day, waiting for my graduation status to change from "pursuing degree" to graduation date of 5/20/2011 and today it finally happened!! Imagine my surprise when I clicked on it this morning and it was finally changed! I've been in kind of a funk the past few weeks because I'm so used to having something to study in all my free time and now I don't. I've been studying for NCLEX here and there, but I feel very prepared to take it so I'm not going crazy. I went from having all these deadlines to meet to tons of free time and I think I feel a little lost without the pressure. So for me, this is great news because now I can get my stuff sent to the board and have another deadline to meet...the NCLEX! I'll be enrolling right away into Excelsior's BSN program, because it seems like I'm not happy unless I have Excelsiors deadlines to meet! ;)

A huge CONGRATS on making it through the program!! So inspiring for those of us still on the mission of content guides, required readings, practice exams and dreams of passing CPNE! Did you have any point where you felt that you would never get there? I also would like to know how long it took you to get through the program. I started in 2009, but did not hit it hard until Dec. Taking LS2 on Friday and since December, these classes have overtaken my life! I owe 5 lb alone to LS2 :lol2: May I also ask what you felt the hardest part about the program was? Thanks for posting your accomplishment, and please come back and share your experience taking your boards with us!

Oh good grief, I never thought about status change to a Graduate Nurse before!! Holy Smoke!! Something else to look forward to! Are LPNs able to keep their current position while they are a GN? I am a Certified Surgical Assistant/LPN but the SA role is dual-can be filled by either. I am also planning on rolling right over to BSN at EC :)

At my former job we all knew when a LPN was waiting to take their boards so I think so! AND once they became a Graduate RN they got a BUMP up in pay, and an even BIGGER BUMP when they passed!!!

So happy for you! Really I am!:yeah:

I officially enrolled in the program May 12th of 2010 and took my CPNE March 25 2011. I would have been done much sooner but I needed to do lot's of gen eds at my community college because I went to a vocational school for LPN and pretty much nothing transferred. This program is so doable and when I was just starting out I would dig through these posts looking for any sign of encouragement that it could be done! So, now that I'm done I'd like to give out all the encouragement I can to the people who are just starting out or thinking it can't be done. If anyone has any questions or needs a bit of a pep talk, let me know. I would be happy to help, just like so many before me helped me. :)

Congratulations!!! :yeah::yeah::yeah::balloons: Very happy for you!!!
