My friend Elaine and I traveled the 100 miles to Sliver Springs Maryland on May 7th, 2014 to attend the movie premiere of the American Nurse film. 100 Bedside RN's were featured in the book The American Nurse with five chosen to be featured in the film. Along with the author and film maker Carolyn Jones, these five RN's appeared for a question and answer period along with brief chat with them while signing my book!
The film eloquently chronicles 5 areas of bedside practice: Labor and Delivery, Geriatrics Long Term Care, Home Health and Hospice Care, a Prison Hospice unit and San Diego's VA Home and Community Based Care-Caregiver Support Program emphasizing the profession of nursing and impact nurses have every day on patient care.
The film has been released May 8th nationwide at Digiplex cinemas, check here for listing: The American Nurse Project: Screenings. It will be released for download after June 1st.
From May 8th through May 31st, any nurse that watches the film will be able to get free CE credits thanks to Nurse.com: The American Nurse | WEB231 > Content
