Filling up the CVS form

Published

It says I need to indicate all the schools that I attended, and that I need to obtain transcripts from each of those schools. But all of my academic records have already been forwarded to my current school, so is it really necessary to obtain all those documents from my previous schools again?

er, nevermind, apparently they will pay for whatever fees are needed. thanks again.

You are paying a fee to CGFNS to obtain these documents and that includes the fees that need to be paid to the schools and licensing bureaus.

Glad that you understand all of this now.

hi! i'm a 2009 BSN degree holder in the Philippines,

i've passed the licensure exams in the Phils and just took oath last month as a registered nurse in the Phils.

But since i'm a permanent resident (immigrant) already in the US. i intend to seek opportunities in the US, particularly New York.

i've read from the posts and from the net that i need to have my credential verified by CGFNS thru their CVS service before i can apply for licensure for New York and NCLEX exam.

my questions are:

what forms should i pass to CGFNS for application for their verification service?

how many copies should i pass to CGFNS?

where will i mail the forms and where shall i pay the appropriate fees? do i still need a form for in order for me to pay? because i saw a creadit card form on cfgns.org website. should i also include that with my application forms for verification service?

thank you! hope to hear from you guys!

You complete the forms on the CGFNS website for CVS and they chase all the paperwork. You do nothing except send your application to NY BON. Once CGFNS receive paperwork back and file is complete will pass it to NY BON and they will make decision on making you eligible to sit exam. Be prepared for a 6- 8 month wait depending on how timely they receive everything. The CVS handbook should explain everything to you

THANKS!

should i wait for CGFNS before i can pass may application for NY state board.

or can i pass my application for CVS to philadelphia and my application for NY state board to the state education department office?

thanks so much! :yeah:

I would probably wait a couple of months for CGFNS (keeping an eye on status) and then send to NY. Even if you send it in at the same time it will not be dealt with until they receive report from CGFNS

Hi.. i would just like to clarify...for the cvs for NY..the educational background part..what will i indicate in the Primary Edcuation: would that be my Grade School or my High School?..and also in the part where there's Professional Education: is there where i put the college i went to before shifting to nursing?..because it said in the application to indicate all the schools that you have been to..now as for me, before nursing, i was an economics major at a different college..so, would i put that in professional education?..or would Primary education be my high school and secondary would be my economic major in college that i only attended for a year?..

please help..it's quite confusing..

oh, and yeah..for NY, is toefl needed too?..

so..step 1 would be CVS. then Form1 to NY. am i correct?..
