  1. The "trick" worked for me... it wouldn't let me register for a new exam, and then I found out that I passed. Edit: I wanted to add that I took my exam for New York, where I got my results in less than a week, but the PearsonVue trick worked as sooon as I got home.
  2. Situation: You're a nurse in a disaster area, and you need to make a bed available, so you need to recommend one patient for discharge... do you pick the most stable patient or the patient that can't be helped anymore?
  3. Can I just ask how long it took for you to receive your eligibility from the time that you mailed in your requirements?
  4. er, nevermind, apparently they will pay for whatever fees are needed. thanks again.
  5. Thanks for clearing that up. It's all good though, at least now my transcript is already prepared and when they ask for it, my school can send it right away. I'm still curious as to how they obtain all these documents. Do they have people here to do that, or do they just mail a request? I'm asking because schools here usually charge for every document that needs to be released and I don't know whether I should be the one paying or if it's already covered by my CVS fee.
  6. Does my payment to CGFNS cover all the mailing fees and all the school fees to obtain a TOR?
  7. Wait, was I not supposed to get the transcripts myself? Should I just have mailed the transcript authorization form? How is CGFNS supposed to get the transcript from my school?
  8. Suzanne I applied for CVS using the online application form. The instructions were to print out the transcript request forms and hand them to the school so that the school can mail the transcripts directly to CGFNS. My school then gave me the tracking number for the package, and that's how I found out that the address is invalid. I think there's a typo on the application form, because on the letter that I received from CGFNS, the address label says the zip code is 19104, not 19101. That, or the zip code changed, I don't know. Anyway, I already called DHL and gave the physical address of CGFNS.
  9. I sent my documents via courier using the address printed o n the application form. My courier is telling me that the address is invalid. This is the address that I used: CGFNS PO Box 8626 Philadelphia, PA 19101-8626 USA Also, is it OK to mail my application form and my bank draft together, or do I need to mail them separately?
  10. It says I need to indicate all the schools that I attended, and that I need to obtain transcripts from each of those schools. But all of my academic records have already been forwarded to my current school, so is it really necessary to obtain all those documents from my previous schools again?
  11. Bambang has a lot of medical supply stores. I don't know how much they cost but I was told those things are expensive (upwards of 5,000php)
  12. Hi Jill. Nursing at UMak would take 2 years since you already have a bachelor's degree. It's a decent school with a lot of 2nd coursers so you won't feel out of place. Personally however, if I had your situation I would find a way to just attend school in the US. But if you already know what to expect then go for it.
  13. Hi all, new grad here... I'm strongly considering going straight to NCLEX and forgoing the NLE, since the US doesn't need it. I need to know what other options I have, as a new graduate without a local license. What other countries hire nurses with no exp and no local license?
  14. Wise words... I will heed them well. Thanks.
  15. Thanks a bunch Suzanne. I'm glad I found this forum to make this process clearer for people like me. I'm pretty confident about my English skills, as my entire childhood was practically spent watching American TV shows A few more questions if you don't mind: 1) A friend of my mom works as a head nurse for a nursing home in CT. She can probably get me hired there, and I really want to come to America in the shortest time possible. Will that speed things up for me? 2) Should I take the NCLEX here in the Phils or in America? I have a tourist visa that doesn't expire until 2011. Will it make the process faster for me if I just come to the US now and do all the requirements there? Thanks again. -Jay
