Good day, I am very interested to know if there is someone from the Philippines who took the CRNE exam? can you please give any feedback? advice regarding what materials or workshops attended in canada? I am currently awaiting my visa and CRNE eligibility and any info's would be much appreciated. I was hired by Sunrise Health Region from Saskatchewan, I hope to sit on the CRNE next year feb. or june 2009.

I know it only takes 3 tries and its game over:confused:

that's why as early as now Im asking around with regard to this.

thanx in advance!!:tinkbll:

No I’m still waiting to be deployed because the instruction to us was to wait and once we’re already in Canada that is the only the time that we could process everything, but I already have my eligibility.. so yeah maybe by February I’m going to sit for the exam..

Thanks for taking time answering my inquiries, you gave me a lot of insights which I already shared to my friends.

God bless you and your family!

pichipichi, just to let you know, the deadline for applications to write the February exam will be November 4, 2008. The application will have to include the examination fee, which is about $500. The deadline for the October exam was yesterday.

hello! I have received a package from the SRNA, enclosed are my CRNE application form and Grad Nurse license form. The thing is, I don't know which step to take next. I am still in the Philippines, and I intend to take the exam on June 2009, but I plan to be in Canada by February. If I'll pay the fees...how do I get to Canada to take the exam? Please help me

OK little bit confused as you say you plan on taking exam in June 09 and will be in Canada by Feb 09 but last sentence asks how to get to Canada to take the exam. What are you actually asking?

You can look for a employer and go through the process and get a TWP and can work as a GN until you sit the exam as long as you have permission from the province

This post should more properly be moved to the International forum as you're not asking about the CRNE but about immigration issues. But since I've already moved a virtually identical post of yours to that forum, I'm going to leave this one here. Please try to keep posts about issues specific to nursing in Canada and not visas, work permits and so on, since nurses working in Canada already have no need of these.

I already received my CRNE application form, have plans of taking it on June 2009, but have not applied yet. Anyways, can I pay the CRNE fee thru a credit card? the banks here in our city only receive bank drafts and manager's check in US dollars

That's what I did when I applied for assessment at Ontario. My banks in the Philippines also furnish bank drafts and manager's checks in US dollars only and they advised to just pay via credit card (mine was mastercard). If I remember correctly, the application forms had a page where you could fill out your credit card info should you choose to pay this way.

the thing is, I called SRNA to really confirm...they do accept credit cards, but not online. now I'm lost :-( does that I mean, I need to go there to pay? I can't just send the cash, right? It's a big amount...

Paid for SRNA by having a bank draft and have it couriered by a reputable courier agency, on my case I had it Fed Ex'd....

If paying by credit card, go to this link:

http://www.srna.org/registration/IEN/credit_card_form.pdf

fill it up and have it couriered to SRNA..

the link that chinky provided will enable you to download a form that's just like the one i filled up to make the credit card payment. i sent the form along with the rest of my application via fedex. that's all you need to do to make the payment. never send cash.

thank you. I checked the form you sent me, but it stated, "Application for Initial Registration", and there is even an amount below, which is $210.... I am not paying for initial registration, it is for the CRNE and grad nurse license. How am I suppose to use the same form, they migh misunderstood, and deposit it under Initial Registration...

The forms you need are all included in this pdf. http://www.srna.org/registration/IEN/IEN_application_package.pdf

In order to receive permission to sit for the CRNE and to obtain temprary registration (GN license) you have to apply for an assessment of your credentials. The first form (Initial Registration) is for that. The $210 fee is to pay for the initial assessment and you won't be given permission to write the CRNE until that has been done. Once your credentials have been assessed and SRNA has all your documentation, they will authorize you to sit the exam and issue you with a temporary permit to practice. When you've successfully completed the exam you will then fill out a regular registration form and pay them a bunch more money to receive your registered nurse permit to practice.
