The charge likely will never go away on its own. You need to lawfully eliminate the controversy by filing the proper paperwork prior to going to the legal system court. Some BONS may not require this charge to be disclosed. See browcounty posts, he has some insight. There is remedy for this situation.
I’m in the same situation with a felony arrest (not conviction), no charges ever filed against me. I have spent over 3 years and about $5000 trying to get this removed from my record before I apply for licensure in my current state. Have gotten nowhere and still working on it. So, I live in one state and work in another 12 hours away. I am seriously considering just applying with this on my record at this point. I sure hope you have better luck than I am.
I am working on it. After 4 years now, and several attorneys and several thousand dollars more, I have gotten one expungement. I am not going to apply for a license in another state until everything is expunged. Whether or not you need to divulge it to the BON depends on the state. You have to look at the application. So, in the meantime, I work 12 hours from my home.

Hello! Would a very old (25 yrs) felony ARREST, not conviction, lead to a denial of license if disclosed? I am already a nurse in FL and went to get a multi state license, and it came up. Now I have spent months attempting to get it removed. Any actual links to the board of nursing would be super helpful. Thank you!
It was a marijuana possession charge, fyi.
