  1. I am working on it. After 4 years now, and several attorneys and several thousand dollars more, I have gotten one expungement. I am not going to apply for a license in another state until everything is expunged. Whether or not you need to divulge it to the BON depends on the state. You have to look at the application. So, in the meantime, I work 12 hours from my home.
  2. I have been trying to petition for expungements in Kansas and Missouri for over 3 years. Have actually been using attorneys and have gotten nowhere.
  3. Do an FBI and State fingerprint check on yourself to find out if it shows up. If not, don’t list it.
  4. I was arrested for operating a body rub business without a license, but no charges were ever filed. I got my nursing license 2 years later, nothing showed up on my background check. I have been working as a nurse for 16 years. A few years ago, I did a background check on myself because we were moving to another state and I wanted to apply for my license. Well, now it shows up that I was arrested for Felony Prostitution! I’m like what the heck?! For the past 3 years I have been working on getting that expunged so that I can apply for my license in my current state. It is my understanding that if it is expunged it will not show up on your FBI background check. It can take 2-6 months to be removed once it is expunged, so you have to check yourself before you apply. Some states require that you divulge expunged records, others do not.
  5. I’m in the same situation with a felony arrest (not conviction), no charges ever filed against me. I have spent over 3 years and about $5000 trying to get this removed from my record before I apply for licensure in my current state. Have gotten nowhere and still working on it. So, I live in one state and work in another 12 hours away. I am seriously considering just applying with this on my record at this point. I sure hope you have better luck than I am.
  6. Hi, thanks for the reply. I know what shows up on my record because I have done fingerprint background checks on myself. I think that maybe the prostitution arrest showed up as a felony because I was at the desk answering phones so they thought I ran the business. Which is why when I was arrested they told me I was being arrested for operating a business without a license. I was shocked when it showed up on my FBI background check as felony prostitution. Or, it’s possible that they ran this sting and were pissed that they didn’t find anything so they just upped the arrest on everyone involved. Idk. I don’t know the people and worked there a very short time. Or, it could be a mistake. I assumed it was a mistake at first and spent thousands on a lawyer to do something about it and they accomplished nothing. Which is why I am wondering if I should give it a shot at getting my license without getting these things expunged. Not even sure if I can get the prostitution arrest expunged. None of the offices involved claim responsibility for putting it on my FBI report.
  7. We are being relocated to Arizona for my boyfriends job, I am wondering if there are any nurses out there that got their Arizona license with criminal charges. I have 3 misdemeanor DUIs, the most recent in 2002. I also have a felony prostitution arrest that there were no charges filed.(No charges were filed because that is not what happened. I took a job answering phones at a massage parlor and they did a sting. They arrested me originally with operating a business without a license and finally figured out that I was not the one operating the business. So, I thought it was all said and done. That was in 2000 and they put the felony prostitution arrest on my background check in 2003.) I got my nursing license in another state in 2003, prior to anything showing up on my record. I am in the process of trying to get everything expunged. Do you have to include expunged offenses on the Arizona application? If I can’t get them all expunged, how likely is Arizona to issue me a license by endorsement?
  8. The court has to report it to have it on your fbi record. If you were a minor, they probably did not.
  9. I got fired for riding in a wheelchair from one side of the building to the other. “Horseplay”
