You know it is a good day when you have a pt with a low blood pressure and an order for a 100 cc bolus of NS and you have the time to go get 10 syringes of 10cc NS and push each one through her IV... for some reason this was funny to me and a fellow nurse, we don't have much time during the day to be silly so this was nice!

The other day I had a pt that said what she missed about being at home was getting her nails done so after lunch two of us rounded up supplies and gave her a manicure and put on nail polish. She was tickled and we had fun. We told her that this was the hospitals spa.

100cc bolus of NS? Is that supposed to really help a low BP? :uhoh21:
That was the other thing that made it seem so funny was, seriously, is 100cc going to do a darn thing. To bad the pt was taken start to MRI after the bolus so we couldn't determine if it helped. I think the doctor did that because she was mad she got called so late in the day when she was already off call.... that is my thinking... silly people
