Feeling Hopeless

So this semester has been rough in more ways than one, and I honestly just need confidence or someone telling me everything is going to be alright. My grandma passed away towards the end of the semester who has been a huge role-model for me. I was also sick in the hospital for a week and a half.

So this is finals week, and I have been studying really hard for it.. I know I didn't do too well this semester for Accounting.

Now for Stats the teacher's policy is you have to get above a 50 or whatever on the final. He kept repeating it during the test and it kept messing me up. I got a 33 on the Final because I went blank for the test.

I calculated my grade and I got an 83 for the whole class but since that stupid rule I FAIL. My average has been a 95+ the whole year.

So Accounting :F

Statistics: F

Economics: A

I'm transferring back to my CC to do classes and everything, and maybe try to get in the ADN program.. I feel like I will never be competitive to get into Nursing school. That I'm not good for anything, and more than half of me wants to just drop out of school because I have no idea what else to do. This WILL BE so detrimental to my GPA. Like I cannot stop crying, and I've been hyperventilating. I have never failed a class or anything. Can anyone give me advice or a plan of action.

Next I would say everyone fall sometime but themost important thing to remember is to get back up. Yes you failed the coursedue to a stupid rule however if you transfer to a CC you can just take theclasses over and improve your GPA. At a CC the nursing program may not be ascompetitive therefore you will be able to get in. While you are at the CC makesure to take the necessary classes to complete your BSN so that you can bridgeonce you complete the program. Getting into NS is the light at the end of thetunnel so make sure you make it through I’m sure your grandmother would havewanted you to make the best of this situation. So take the winter break to getyourself together then work towards your goal.

Would it be easier to become a LPN or CNA and then bridge to RN? Needing Advice on each course of action.

Life is unpredictable and can knock you off your feet. I am sure it was emotionally and mentally taxing on you to lose her. My grandma was also a role model and an angel to me. She died midway through a semester. I have always been able to compartmentalize to the point I seem emotionless. My family had the horror of having to "pull the plug." She had breast cancer and caught pneumonia while hospitalized and that resulted death. I would cry at home and power through school. So I fully understand your pain. No matter what, your grandmother is proud of you. Let yourself grieve during this upcoming break and then go back and knock it out. Your dream is never out of reach until you stop trying for it!

Good day:

There's not a CNA to RN bridge that I'm aware; an LPN to RN bridge might work out well (that is my plan B should things not work out for me).

If it were me, I would talk with the professor where you had an 83 average up until the final to see if there's anyway to make up for the score you got. The answer maybe no, but you'll never know for sure until you ask.

Thank you.

I want to cry, and my dreams are to move to the UK as well. I don't want to be sitting at a CC for my GPA, and not be able to get into the ADN program because of the waiting list. THEN not even be able to work in the hospital setting due to NO ONE hiring Associates

I say if you have the concern that you may not be able to work just in case you get wait listed then go the LPN route at least that way you are able to bridge right after that and can get a job in a hospital. You can get your CNA but definitely retake the needed class then apply to the CC nursing program. Why work so hard to get into nursing school then not go.

Speak to a counselor at your university. You may have just made your goals more difficult, not impossible.

They may have experience dealing with many individuals in your situation who were able to achieve their goal.

Don't be down on yourself. Take those classes over and it will wipe the other grades away. Once you do that, continue your path. All of this will make you stronger. Start thinking positive thoughts and remind yourself that you can do it ... Good luck!
