I have no idea why people repeat ugly talk. What possible good does it do? Spread the pain? Alert the victim?
I've never understood the mechanism behind repeating words that are sure to hurt. "Abby said you're stupid and.....
I can't decide who's more vicious, the person who says it, or the person who repeats it.
Some would confront the two, but experience tells me they'll simply deny your questions.
If your NM was going to fill in the blanks, she would have.
I'd just limit interaction with all of them whenever possible.
The above is the best argument I know for keeping workplace relationships superficial, and in the workplace.

Just wanted feedback regarding a situation that still hurts and confuses me.
My nurse manager 'shared' with me one morning that the two clinical care specialists (RNs) on our floor were talking negative about me. She didn't explain exactly what they said. I don't really have any contact with them, save for my orientation on days, because I work nights. Nurse manager shrugged, and said 'I don't get it', and that was the end of that.
Was I supposed to be glad she shared this with me? Now when I think of them, or see them in the morning (rare), I feel very uncomfortable. And it hurts, as they do not even know me.
