Well, it's never too soon to start thinking about this. Anyone else thinking of applying for Summer 2009?
I went to worksource and I definately recommend going there! First call the phone number ( they are listed in our packet) and they will explain what they cover, if you qualify:: tuition, books, and now 5 dollars a day in gas if you live more than 5 miles away from the campus).
The first day you have to take an aptitude test that lasts about 1.5 hours. Then you schedule the Florida Ready To Work test, which takes about 3 hours. This is all just to see if you are prepared to work in the program.
Then you have to schedule another appointment where you hand in all of your financial and personal info so they can determine how much you qualify to receive. It seems like a long process, but definately worth it. I need all of the financial help I can get.
The FAFSA form for the 1st term (summer term) is considered 08-09.
The fall is considered 09-10.
Ughh...okay, so I went to the Northside Medical Clinic today for my drug test and decided to just go ahead and have my physical done while I was there. Then I come home and read the posts and now I'm thinking I just messed up and will have to have the physical done all over because it has to be dated after the 11th?? Geez. I hope they will take this one because I can't afford to have another one done. Oh, and I picked up my skills kit on the way home.

Worksource is this AMAZING!!! scholarship program. I don't remember all the jists of it, but it cannot hurt to apply for it. They paid for all of my summer tuition and my books. They used to pay for all the other stuff you needed too, until they got a reduction in funds. But it is still amazing! They are also going to be paying for my Kaplan review next semester, boards, and my liscensure. I think they pay for some other stuff as well. But I love them. Depending on what type of scholarship you qualify for, they will also pay you $5 a day for gas.
