Well, it's never too soon to start thinking about this. Anyone else thinking of applying for Summer 2009?
Oh and if you fail a class also, you have to wait for a spot to open up. I think the first term is the hardest to get back into. A girl in my section did not pass pharm her first term, and had to wait two semesters before she got back in. So when she was doing her second term, the class she started with was in their final term.
It really goes by really fast after that first term!! I will be starting my final term when you guys start your first and it feels like the first day all over again! =)
Sorry I got a little confused when you said term...I take it you guys mean semesters.
Okay just so I understand this...so let's say I start Summer 09...
I would go Summer 09, Fall 09, Spring 10, and then Summer 10 I would be graduating? (This is seeing that one passes all the terms.) I was just wondering because the school I am at makes it Fall and Summer for 3 years! I think that is too long to be away at school and I would start this coming Fall. Wanted to know so I can aply to Fall 09 here in town.
Not bad, how early did you apply to the program? I wish I wasn't up north now because I really would like to get a hold of an application before April when I will be back in town. Do you guys know if the Nursing applications are at every campus? I am wondering because I might have a friend of mine go get me one and mail it to me.
Do they have to be turned in person? Or can my friend turn it in for me? I just don't want to miss the deadline.
Also, I will be taking Microbiology and Algebra during the summer...I know on the website it says: The following five courses must be completed before submitting an application to this program.
I will have them completed by the end of the summer...will this hinder my acceptance for Fall 09?
Sorry for all the questions...thanks for reading and answering. :)
1. They have the application at all campuses in the student success center. I have read elsewhere that you can actually download it from the FCCJ site.
2. OK...here is my understanding....if you apply for Fall 09 admission, you points will be based on what you have completed by end of Spring semester. What that means is that you will get 0 points for the courses that you have in progress. If you have more than 1, you could have difficulty getting accepted if your grades are A's and B's. Max points for the courses is 120. You are missing 1 - 4 cr course and 1 - 3 cr course so your max is 92. That would only happen if you have a 4.0 now. The max on the NAT is 120. I scored in the 98th percentile on 2 of the 3 and 91st percentile on the other. My raw score * .64 gave me 112. If you scored that well, you could potentially have 204 pts at application time and that is good enough. Only you know your current grades to calculate your potential score at app time.

The NAT for me was kind of a general knowledge test. There are science questions but they're more like little facts or things that you pick up along the way. Like knowing what temp water freezes at.... ykwim? Really general questions. I looked over a lot of science questions, but when I took the test all that stuff didn't really help me because I knew most of that stuff before. It helps some though, so keep reviewing(look over a few Anatomy stuff).
