Well, it's never too soon to start thinking about this. Anyone else thinking of applying for Summer 2009?
Hi Jacks...yes...I called today. I saw your post and thought, 'heck...I'm off, I'll call!' I don't know why they'd have to send to the Prez...It really seems like they'd take all of the applications and sort into 2 stacks - Meet Critieria and Don't Meet. Then it's a matter of verifying points, county of residence and ranking. Count down to the magic number and then send the "Don't Meet" stack and the ones below the cutoff a 'Dear John' letter.
I know I'm over simplifying things...but sheesh...the waiting is driving me nutso!
OK...heads up folks! {Let me start with, I do not advise anyone to do what I did! I made a bit of a stink on Friday and received a call from the Dean of Workforce Development today!}
Anyway, here is the latest and greatest, hot off the press. The letters are being mailed today! There were 96 slots and 375 applications. They did an extensive review....to include verifying your 'real' address.....so those who don't really live in Duval or Nassau counties and used a different address to be in that group, you may find yourself disappointed. Duval and Nassau got the priority.
Classes will begin as scheduled on May 2nd. The orientation will be ALL DAY on April 23rd, so those who have kids will need to make their daycare arrangements.
BTW, I don't know if I should let this cat out of the bag.....but, I applied for evenings/weekends.....and I had 219 points.....and the dean shared.... I'M IN! :yeah:
So everyone.....tomorrow is your day! Let us know if you got in! (Please don't call the school.....I think they may get torqued at me! LOL)
:ancong!: Definately not at all suprised that you got in with that many points! Way to go!
Thanks for sharing your information! Additionally, it would have been absolutely amazing if you would have squeezed out of them what the cut off points were for each program!
My excitement has now turned to complete nervousness...:omy:

*sigh* You would think that since they're only looking at 2 counties that they would go a lot faster.
