May 9 (Sa) Commencement

May 25 (M) Memorial Day Holiday (College closed)

July 3 (F) Independence Day Holiday (observance) (College closed)

July 4 (Sa) Independence Day

August 15 (Sa) Final examination period begins

August 21 (F) Final examination period and term ends

August 25 (T) Grade submission deadline

Good thought Wilkes 09 .... I was parusing the FCCJ's website earlier today and the new class schedule for summer 09 is available online. I don't think they would have posted class start dates being May 4th-ish if they were going to hold back the classes starting for a month. Since we cannot see the schedule for the nursing classes yet (since we are not registered as nursing students) I cannot say for sure that nursing classes start around the 4th as well...

My point is that I don't understand why, with that being said, the nursing department would be the only department that the start date would be postponed~ Everyone should essentially be on the same schedule I would imagine!

Well hopefully classes will begin in May...just thought it was odd that he sd they were all told that thier summer class wouldnt start til June...figured if that was the case then it would apply to all of us...will keep my fingers crossed that this is not the case

I was actually wondering if they were gonna push us back until June too, but then how would summer break work? LoL. Just something else to think about.

:hdvwl:Thought this might maybe clear up some confusion on the reason for our long wait. I was digging around online- wanting to see what the new FSCJ logo would look like... Check out this quote & article I found about the new changes.

"The name change will not be official until the state legislature gives its final approval. If all goes as planned, the legal switch will take place on or around Aug. 1, 2009. "

So there you go folks, there is no way we could possibly be waiting on "stationary change" or class schedule changes or anthing else of that nature if the official approval won't come till almost fall 09 semester starts.

It might clear up some confusion but still doesn't explain why we are waiting to sooo long to hear back!

Just wondering if anybody has attempted to call the nursing office lately? Any updates?

I called the nursing office and was told that the list had been sent to the president's office and that 'she' had no idea when the letters would be sent out. Ugh. So that sounds like another week to me (IMHO).

Is that was what they said to you today ElsieFL? At least we know they are making progress! I wonder why they sent a list to the presidents office. What would be the purpose of doing that?
