I guess all of you are going thru the same feelings I am right now. I have turned in my application at FCCJ for the 2008 spring term and it is killing me. The more I read on here the more frightened I get. This is my first time applying and I am so nervous!!! Any words of advice to get me thru this???
Ok, I'm just about done Yay!!! My titer's all came back pos. so no more shots. I think the only thing I have to do is my photo, and wait on financial aid (what a pain).. I can't wait until orientation!!!
How long did it take for you titers to come back? I have my appt. tomorrow and knowing there is a time crunch just wanted to see what your experience was. My drs. office said it CAN take up to 2 weeks to get them back but USUALLY takes 1 week. Have you already done the hepatitis vacs or are you declining to do those?
Thanks!!!!
I had them drawn last Thursday, so less than a week. I had the hep b done years ago and so they just did a titer. Honestly, I don't think I could have afforded to do it if I would've had to. I'm so nervous about starting now and managing everything but financially I really don't have a choice!
I totally understand. If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you for the physical? My drs. office sucks and won't give me a price for all of this. All they can tell me is that the physical for a self pay patient is 60 bucks! But that doesn't include the shots and titers. I am totally horrified to find out what this is going to cost me! Thank god for credit!!!!
I went to Solantic, and the physical was 50, the tetorifice was 10 (I think), the tb test was 20, and it was 15 for them to draw blood for the titers. It came out to 95 dollars. Then the lab is gonna bill me seperate for the actual titers (I think thats 375), but the guy at Solantic said the lab will let you make payments. This whole thing is SOOO expensive!
I know...all of these start up costs have my head swimming! I am trying not to let it ruin my excitement. I am still trying to find out how much all these shots and lab work are going to total up to, but it's not like I have an option anyway. So I will just brace myself for the bills!
Discover card to the rescue! (even though I HATE using credit at all)
Well technically I'm not working, but I have 3 children 6,4,and 7 months. So finding time to study is challenging to say the least.. I figure I'll try to get a couple of hours of studying before they wake up then if they take a nap.. AHHH!!! I don't know!!! I don't do so well without ANY sleep which is what it sounds like it's gonna be!

I would consider 3 children work! Probably more work that what I do at my job!!!
My job said they were going to work with me prior to getting in but now that I am actually in they seem to be a little concerned and have lots of questions that unfortunatly right now I can't answer. I hope they will stick to what they said but I am concerned that it may become an issue. Just keeping my fingers crossed!!!
