I just enrolled into fccj for the nursing program and ive been curious how difficult are these classes going to be. I have to take college algebra, humanities, A&P 1 & 2, chemistry, microbiology, english comp, phsycology, & human growth and development. I also have to take some communications class? (anybody know what the communications class is?) anyway how should i sort my semesters with these classes. how did all of you do it. I heard its best to mix hard classes with the easy ones. anyway also ive been reading other thread and have been alittle confused about the "points" for applying into the nursing program. i hear its competitive but what are these points and how do you get them? by simply making A's or what? thank you -Susan
I am just barley passing the teachers gives you study guides to take home for exams so if you study those they are verbatimly on the exam...i am NOT learning anything at all
the class is two days a week he posts the notes online so we can print them for class. then on the first day of class he reads the notes that we could've read at home then he sends us home!!! no class participation, no homework, nothing!! then the second day of class he lectures again and we have a choice to choose what quiz we want to take the lecture from the first day or the lecture we jus learned...so either quiz we chooso something is getting left out...i jusy feel so lost!!! he doesnt ask us questions to make sure we understand and if we ask questions he gets an attitude

here is what it states on the website:
the following five courses must be completed before submitting an application to this program.
all general education courses must be completed before the last term of the nursing program. a grade point average of at least 2.0 must be maintained.
one year of high school chemistry or any college chm
when i applied, mcb 2010c could be in-progress, but notice it says that these courses must be completed before submitting an app.
to the OP: did you take chemistry and biology in high school and within the past 5 years? if so, you're good to go as far as taking A&P I. the high school courses are pre-requisites to taking A&P I.
if you scroll down to BSC 2085C - Human Anatomy and Physiology I, there is more info.

Actually FCCJ will let you take A&P 1 and 2 without having Chemistry, but when you go to register for micro it will not let you unless you have had it with in 5 years or have had a college chem class... I just went through this issue, I took Chem in 10th grade which was 7 years ago, and it booted me when I tried to register for micro... but I am currently in A&P1 and registered for A&P2

Not quite accurate. I took 3 (college) Chem classes in 1979 and 1980 and I did not get booted because it wasn't in the last 5 years.

Yes, A&PII builds on A&PI. Are you just barely passing, or getting a good grade but not sure you're learning everything? I'm curious which teacher - can you post their initials?
