I know it is kind of early to start this thread but I thought maybe there were some others out there who are planning on applying for fccj/fscj fall 2010 RN program. Hope you will post on this thread!

Been reading the forum but new to writing on it. I just called her and she won't tell me what the cutoff is for points but I have 198 and have got nothing in the mail yet either..
Oh, I'm sorry! I called last semester for those ladies (and gentlemen) and she told me what it was. I don't know why it would be so top secret.

It just occurred to me what she said when I talked to her. I asked what the cutoff is and she said you'll find out when you get a letter. I asked her if the deadline to accept or decline was tomorrow and she said yes, for the people who already have theirs, but they're being sent in batches all the way through the first week of august. my guess is that fall term is so big they are doing more than one orientation and accept decline date.
I doubt there will be multiple orientations, just multiple accept/decline call dates. She can't give you a cutoff yet, because they haven't finished accepting people yet. After tomorrow, they will know how many more letters they can prepare (in addition to those ready to go out/have already gone out in the second batch) based on who accepts, and who declines from the first batch.

Just got a denial letter, for all of those who are waiting, it says the cut off was 201.24 for the semester.

Yea, I thought with the more seats I would have a better chance too, but I have back ups ready to go! Hopefully everyone else did too!

The denial letter should also tell you where you ranked; how many away you were from being accepted. Anybody that is within ten should be prepared in case you get a call. Some people will turn down their seats because of conflicts with work schedule, accepted into other programs, or other schools, or unable to get financing. In the summer, six people declined their seats and the next six in line got in. I was about 23 in line, so I had to wait until this term. Don't get discouraged, just keep plugging away at your pre-reqs, and shoot for "A's". My "A" in microbiology (in the spring) is what finally put me over the top point-wise. and now I will be starting in the fall.

Oh my, I had 200.36. Acceptance was at 201.24. I rank 177 out of 168. 9 people would have to decline for me to get in. Talk about CLOSE! geeeeezzzzz! That would still be a long shot just to get in after declined seats. Now I am concerned that even with an A in Micro, 216 may not be competitive enough for Spring.
You would have to be taking micro now because the application deadline is October 1 and the class has to be finished to use the grades to calculate points. 216 would be plenty for spring, it will be higher, but not 14 points.
Don't completely count out the fall term yet. I would be prepared to move quickly as today is the deadline for accepting seats. Also, some people may drop either before or at orientation.
I am taking micro now. Thanks for the hopes. When I posted a few days ago that I thought the cutoff went way up this term, someone replied that there was no way it went up that much...but it did! It is pretty crucial that I get in this semester, so I will keep hoping for 9 people to decline. Thanks!
