FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

You health insurance will not cover any titers or immunizations you require so the cost is all out of pocket.

Unless you are military. I had my titers drawn back in March and started my Hep B, but now I have to wait 7 months and get the special one since I didn't take to the normal series! My daughter said geez mom even your blood is weird! lol :chuckle

okay people...it's a NEW day! :yeah: don't hesitate to POST as soon as you know something!! :loveya:

lol...cuz right now i'm just playing playstation until the mailman comes.

:vdgmg:

It's Wednesday and yet again, no letter... I feel like I'm in that movie Groundhog Day. I keep repeating the same day over and over again.

In response to all of the other posts. (1) I know I'm jumping a head of the game on everything, but I'm excited!!! (2) I'm hoping for a "BIG" packet...my acceptance letter. (3) I guess we will be going to the Northside Medical Clinic...thanks for the info Kiwi65.

I hope everyone is having an awesome day..letter or no letter!!!

Just wanted to let y'all know some further info.

I looked way back in 2006 on Allnurses.com, and it seems that those applying for Fall of '06 received their letters on Friday July 7th & their orientation was held on Wednesday August 1st. As mentioned previously, Fall 2007 got their letters Friday July 6th & their orientation was on Thursday August 9th.

I guess my point in telling y'all this is that, A.) I have too much time on my hands, and that B.) It gives us a gauge as to when our orientation "may" be... I know I was planning on going to a family reunion in Colorado and now that appears to be out of the picture based on the previous orientation dates.

Good grief...

I will someday look back on all this spare time I had, and pray that I may have it again when I'm knee deep in patient charts, and what-not.;)

You're gonna be praying for time your first week in school, trust me. I should be on this forum because if have so much work to do, but I enjoy the vicarious (sp?) anticipation. I'm reliving February all over again!

that's crazy. hats off to you! i couldn't do all that. when do you sleep? do you sleep? well...take care of yourself :redpinkhe

Thanks bossladii, I can only sleep about 5-6 hours on an average at a time. And I take power naps when I can. :zzzzz

Hey everyone I just remember something. During the spring term I was taking sociology and a girl in my class who had just got into the summer 08 term said that if you just tell your doctor that you want a physical and all your shots/immunizations updated that it would be covered. She told them that it had been a long time (since she was a kid)and she wanted to make sure she was protected. She also said someone before her had did the same thing and passed the info down to her. But if they know it is for school purposes they will not cover it. So don't tell them its for school and maybe your insurance will cover it. Can't hurt to try, if mine won't cover it then I will be heading to the northside.

Hey ya'll!!

I have been watching this forum thread for a long time, but just now got the guts up to write something.

I work at the South Campus, and I'm waiting for word from the Nursing Department also. I just moved, so my letter is going to my Mom's house. She only checks her mail once or twice a week!!!

Well, I am sure that most everyone will get in. I know I will unless there is some weird glitch, I have 206 points. I only know because the advisors I work with keep telling me that I'll have no problem. I was hoping for nights/weekends, but I'll take whatever they give me and just learn to eat ramen noodles in the Flordia heat.

I think most of the students here should get in, you guys are the worry-warts. Worry-warts normally do really well.

The lady that had the financial advisor tell her to wait to file the appeal, that is because before you get the approval letter you will be denied the appeal for the most part. That makes me happy to think that maybe it will come through next week sometime. Oh, and definately file the appeal at North Campus, not any other campus.

Well, good luck you guys, Happy Birthday to a bunch of you... I really look forward to studying with so many awesome people.

so do you plan on working while in the program? i get 5 or 6 hours too and that's without working and just going to school, and it's killing me. you're a CHAMP!:heartbeat
