FCCJ E/W 4th Term Role Trans....

U.S.A. Florida

I am currently in term 3 (evening/weekends) and was wondering if someone could give me some insight on the 4th term schedule. I work full time and was trying to see how much time I would need to take off for role transition and the NCLEX review. I have heard that we do 3 weeks of three 12 hour shifts and that they can be monday thru sunday and then a week for the NCLEX review. If any one could share their schedule just so I can get an idea, I would greatly appreciate it! Since I am at Deerwood for the evening weekend program I don't get out to North Campus very often and can't see the schedules posted.

Thank you in advance!!

Thanks. Looks like I will have to take some LWOP (leave w/o pay). Us contractors don't get paid when we don't work. There goes a grand! SUX!

Well if you have to work, then I don't see why they would make you go? The remidiation was just some NCLEX style questions. Nothing too huge. And you are not really missing anything. I did not pay attention at all and I know people who took notes like crazy and I passed the HESI and they didn't.

Unfortunately, we were told in the beginning that this may happen and so far the school has been great at keeping us to evenings and weekends, so I feel like we shouldn't complain it is only 3 days and part of roll transition will be a weekday also, so at least we are at the end and it is only a few days, it has been a long hard road, we will check again and see if they have changed their minds but I wouldn't bet on it.

In the beginning, they stated that DAY students had to remain flexible about time scheduling. After reading the course descriptions, I often wondered how they would handle Role Transformation.

I spoke to my AHI teacher last night and she agreed that there doesn't seem to be a logical reason to have the NCLEX review only in days. Considering they handed our Pharm teacher the materials only a day or so before class and she didn't know the material.....shows that they can do the same thing with our AHII teacher and let her be the moderator of an NCLEX evening review.

It may not seem like a big deal to you, but.... that is 8 * 37 * 3 = $888 in pay I will lose just for those 3 days! Then you add the 3 days of clinicals for another $888. (It would be inconceivable to work say a Tues day, clinical from 7P - 7A and then work Wed!) So for those last couple of weeks, I lose $1776! Not chump change.

Yeah, we gotta do what we gotta do, but personally, I am beginning to have an issue with the constant theme of "that just the way it is" or "get used to it - it's nursing" when there is no justifiable reason not to change. The reason why nurses get abused is because they not only allow it, the veterans encourage it by these kinds of statements.

I know that I am going to send a letter or email to the chairman of the dept and encourage change. (UCK, now I sound like my least favorite president!) LOL :jester:

If anyone wants my old notes for adult health 2 I still have them, send me a pm and I can send that to you. Honestly I thought Adult health 2 was way easier than adult health one. I had Mrs ****** for an instructor, while she was nice I would not take her again. She talked way too much! I didn't have her for clinical but my friend did and she did not like her at all. Mrs *****or ****** are the way to go. :D

I would love to have your notes the Adult Health II, however, I am not familiar with the term PM.
