Trump, the suspect of multiple federal investigations and investigations in multiple states, twice impeached and removed from office by the American voters in 2020, COMPLETE SORE LOSER (He is the definition of an entitled snowflake because he whines over a loss that he pretends he won), unpatriotic white nationalist TRASH and authoritarian dictator wannabe (he wants to destroy our democracy while political GQP hacks and trash/clown media (I.e. Fox Noise and white nationalist media outlets) mimic his stupidity) Is raided by the FBI:

Now it becomes clearer that there was at least one document containing such highly classified information about nuclear weapons. The WaPo was once again more credible that Trump or the Republicans who defend him. What was classed as fanning the flames appears to have been accurate reporting about Trump's dangerous and criminal behavior.
One does have to wonder exactly how incompetent Trumps national security staff were to tolerate such inappropriate handling of so many government documents by the FPOTUS. Were they all afraid of him or were they similarly challenged in comprehending the laws? Trump promised that he hired "only the best"... maybe we were mislead about what they were best at.

The Trump team filed a separate civil case. Like the criminal case, it's randomly assigned. Not possible to "Judge shop".
The judge is asking them to file a legal brief as to why their request should be in a new civil case, and not as part of the criminal case. Maybe they are on solid legal ground, maybe not. We'll see.
Turns out that it’s not entirely true that it’s not possible to judge shop.
I just finished reading a report on The Daily Beast about a different case in Florida filed by trump’s team in federal court. The article was titled “Trump went judge shopping and it paid off in the mar-a-lago case”. Published originally on Sept. 6.
The article points out that only one judge, namely Aileen Cannon, sits in the venue where the request was filed.
So … definitely judge-shopping. Let’s see where the appellate courts go with this.

I pulled this comment forward because a Daily Mail video from May of 2021 has been recirculating. It shows Trump arriving at the airport to travel from Mara Lago to his golf property in NJ. In that video several people load document boxes into the jet. Seven or eight boxes and they looked heavy. That was after Trump had been contacted about NARAs desire to get their stuff back.
Context and time lines are important when considering Trump's unprecedented behavior.
Archives Is Unsure Whether Trump Surrendered All Records, Panel Says https://nyti.ms/3REtx0J
QuoteThe National Archives has informed congressional aides that it is still unsure whether former President Donald J. Trump has surrendered all of the presidential records he removed from the White House as required, even after months of negotiations, a subpoena and a search of his Florida property, Mar-a-Lago, according to the House Oversight Committee.
The archives staff “recently informed the committee that the agency is not certain whether all presidential records are in its custody,” Representative Carolyn B. Maloney, Democrat of New York and the chairwoman of the committee, wrote in a letter on Tuesday to Debra Steidel Wall, the acting national archivist.
Ms. Maloney said the archives staff informed committee staff during a call in late August of its uncertainty about the status of the material.
In her letter, Ms. Maloney requested a formal assessment from the archives of what presidential records, if any, removed from the White House by Mr. Trump remain unaccounted for and whether the archives believes they are potentially still in his possession.
It sounds like Trump was a chaotic and disorganized executive. It's difficult to understand why Republicans would want to return him to a political office.
QuoteThe committee is requesting that the archives “conduct an urgent review of presidential records from the Trump administration to identify any presidential records or categories of presidential records, whether textual or electronic, that NARA has reason to believe may still be outside of the agency’s custody and control,” Ms. Maloney wrote. “Please also assess any other limitations on the completeness, accuracy and accessibility of presidential records provided to NARA by the Trump administration.”
She also requested that the National Archives “seek a personal certification from Donald Trump that he has surrendered all presidential records that he illegally removed from the White House after leaving office.”
A personal certification...LOL... they want Trump's word on this.
They'll probably never know with certainty. The grifters have had too much lead time, but I can imagine they're pretty surprised the National Archives are so tenacious. Probably thought ha ha, a bunch of file clerks. We can roll those people easily. They should've looked into their efforts regarding Richard Nixon's presidential papers.
