FBI Check is not accurate?

I did an FBI criminal history search on my own to see what the BON would see. The BON requires FBI criminal history checks on anyone who wants to enter a nursing program. I just got my FBI criminal history check back and to my great surprise, it says that I have no history.

But I do. I have a misdemeanor from nearly five years ago. I called the clerk of court of where it happened and asked about expungement(for the purpose of job searches not nursing school) and she told me I was eligible after looking up my record. Apparently this records division doesn't share records well.

Ugh... The charges don't show up on other background checks either making the record unofficially sealed I guess. Believe me I'm not trying to lie about my record, its just hard for me to know what to do when background checks come up clean, but I admit to a crime.

I'm not looking for legal advice or anything like that, I just want to know if anyone has stories about something like this happening before.

I have no criminal history but I would be honest even if you can't see it. If you aren't and it does show up, I think that would be really bad.

Hopefully it won't hold you back. I'd call the BON and ask their advice. Good luck to you.
