Favorite Vacation Destination?

Nurses Stress 101

Published

As nurses, we spend endless hours caring for others, sometimes at the expense of our own mental and physical well-being. What is your favorite getaway spot/vacation destination? Mine is Tybee Island, Georgia, because of the beautiful, quiet beaches, and its proximity to lovely Savannah. I also love Gulf Shores, Alabama (spent my honeymoon there!)Where is your favorite place to escape?

The Bahamas is one of my favourites. I've been 5 times.

I grew up in NC and I loved going to either end of the state for vacations.

I love the Outer Banks, any part of it. There is nothing quite like it anywhere else in the world. You have the history of Kitty Hawk and Roanoke Island (and more), hot military guys on leave from a few bases, and miles of beaches where families can have fun.

My other favorite place would have to be Lake Lure in the mountains, where they filmed Dirty Dancing. It's gorgeous. I love going during off-season when it's deserted. There's hiking, boating, camping, and cabins if you need running water (like I do).

Mine is our cabin by a nice little lake - We purchased it a couple of years ago and it quiet and charming - great fishing and hiking. Other than that anywhere where the the phones don't ring and there's no wi-fi or television - I have been thinking of going to Homer, Alaska to hang out with the KIlchers.

Cani, I have been to North Carolina and I love it! I went to the Outer Banks in high school, and I'll never forget the beautiful wild horses that roamed around the town of Corolla. In western NC, there is a little town called Cherokee that is a fun day-trip destination. I just took my daughter last fall & we visited the Cherokee Heritage Museum, which we both enjoyed!
