I just started the application process. I went through a few of the forums from years prior for NP programs at FAU and it seems a some folks had issues with NursingCAS and their transcripts not being loaded properly or errors when the college sent them in. I had two schools who did electronic and one I had to send in that form so they could mail it in with the transcript. Hoping all goes well. I'm leaning towards FAU over FIU and Miami basically due to costs. I've heard great things about all the programs and I did my RN to BSN at FIU but it seems FAU is the best value for achieving your NP. I am applying for the Davie campus for family nurse practitioner. Best of luck to everyone.
I'm only applying to the boca FAU FNP program. If I'm not accepted, I'll likely widen my search next year. The cost and close distance allow me to start next fall, other programs are less feasible at the moment.
I have not had any issues with the application yet but I dont plan to submit till I go to the information session in November so I'll see if theres any trouble with submitting then. It's all worked pretty fast so far. No lost transcripts or anything yet.
I wish there was more information about the program in the meantime. How expensive the books will be, the list of courses by semester, the tools we will need to buy (assuming we will need more than stethoscope and pen light). I want to do more than just wait right now haha, even if it's just to mentally prepare.
Hey.....I also applied but for the Boca Campus. I called last week and spoke with Matt Peterson. He is the coordinator for the Master's programs with the School of Nursing. Side note he did mention he was "new"...as in this will his first go around with the selection and/or admissions process with FAU. Fast forward....I asked him to give me an idea of the timeline we would be working with. He said that they are currently sorting applications. Deciding who's application moves on to the admissions committee who has the final say as to who gets an interview or not. He said that notice of an interview will come via email. That will be held at the main campus in Boca Raton. From there withstanding that you do well on the interview you will get another email granting admission. Of course that will be conditional on a Level 2 Background check. He said Interviews should be conducted by the end of February 2019 completely. So you could potentially know if you are granted an interview within the next week or so. And from there admission by middle of March.
Side Bar.....
I am sooooooooo nervous. I really want to get into this program. It is #1 in Florida... #23 Nationally Ranked. The wait is KILLING MEEEEEEEEEE ????????????
I HOPE WE GET IN!! If anyone else has update PLEASE post!
No email here.....Called again today. They said that they are nowhere done sorting/selecting applications for interviews. He basically said the process (selection and interviews) could take 3-4 weeks. He said they had like 9 spots open for the DNP program at Boca so they were trying to fill those first. Interviews were to start in March with a couple on the 28th of February. So fingers crossed!

So I do not think there has been a forum made yet for the FAU FNP program starting in August 2019. Other programs starting then welcome as well. The applications are officially open so I was hoping for some discourse on the application/interviews/etc.
I'm still in the middle of my application. Anyone having "fun" with nursingcas and started as well?
