Florida Atlantic University (FAU) FNP - Fall 2025
I used to have all the numbers written down but I threw that out years ago. something like 300 typically apply and 60-80 get in give or take. The class size isn't huge because everyone is in the same classes in the same semester. I think we started around 80 and by the second or 3rd semester we went down to around 60 as people dropped out. It's not an easy program and is harder the more your try to work. I had to go down to part time. A lot of people tried to work full time while juggling some kids and other responsibilities and its not an easy program. Not to scare yall though since some people did make it work.

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) FNP - Fall 2025
Again this was back in 2019 fall start sooo things might have changed but I doubt the core structure was altered too much. All in all, I feel it prepared me well to work as an NP now and I got the first job I applied to. Companies trust FAU which is nice. Not another degree mill where you have to beg for clinical placements and jobs LOL.

The first year was a nice pace.. Theres basically a hard class paired with a *cough useless cough* other class. So you can focus really on the important one. Like we had nursing in caring with pathophysiology. caring class was just discussion posts and not important imo to our education but it let me focus entirely on patho which is very important since we now are diagnosing and prescribing based on our knowledge. There were two semesters of pharmacology too which again the first was paired with some BS nursing economy class or something I cant really remember. But it was nice to only have to really think about pharm. After the first year, you have clinicals and core classes and are done with the BS so that was nice although maybe picked up on difficulty a bit since both need your full attention.

It was great! Especially considering everything was suddenly hectic with the pandemic... classes went online which was nice (not having to go to boca for classes and deal with the parking lot). After you get the email they'll set you up eventually with a program (we used castlebranch but that might have changed) to do finger printing/back ground checks, upload vaccine/physical docs, etc. Just a heads up that they are painfully slow to give more info. If you are type A like me.. Summer was hard to get through waiting. I tried to get the book list early to start studying, they wouldnt give it to me. oh well, I guess enjoy the last free Summer for a couple years haha

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) FNP - Fall 2025
Hi I just wanted to chime in because my husband is waiting for his admission decision as well. I got into the fnp program back in 2019. My acceptance email came April 4th at 8pm. They might not use the same date years later but I remember the wait killing me so theres some hope its next week.

FAU FNP 2019
Hi, its competitive because they only have 60 spots for all graduate nursing programs (msn and dnp). So each program is only accepting a fraction of 60. Total cost is around 20-22k from my math but that can vary based on where you get your books/supplies and if credit hour prices change. You have a 4.0 gpa and hospital experience, I wouldn't worry unless you have a terrible writing ability or cannot get a decent letter of recommendation. If you want to increase your chances, make sure you also are in some associations, FAU loves associations (FNA, ANA, association based on your field, etc).

So anyone interested in a fb group for our year? I guess it's a little premature but once classes start, it would make discussing studying and what not more possible.

FAU FNP 2019
Yes, I did most of mine already as well. Have like 4 or 5 things left but I plan to do one, the drug test, tomorrow. One of mine missing is that clinical guidelines paper we sign. But I can't find the couple things it says we confirm we read. Anyone know where to find them?

FAU FNP 2019
We do not really know clinical info yet since we do not have clinicals the first year. the first 2 semesters are basically 100% online if i remember right.

FAU FNP 2019
I got my acceptance info packet. I'm glad they gave this to us early because theres plenty of minor things to do. immunization records, residency form, setting up faunet. easy but time consuming.

FAU FNP 2019
When people start getting more info, yall should post about it here. I wonder how long until we get the mailed packet with more info.

To clarify, in the info session, they made it sound like preceptors would be assigned without your address as a factor. so a person south of boca could have a spot in wellington and a wellington student could be going south of boca.
