Hello. Just checking if anyone else is submitting their application for FAU's FNP program for fall 2015? I'm curious how many applicants they generally receive each cycle and how many they accept.
Nursegirl I wouldn't lose hope just yet. Especially since interviews are still taking place. Just know you'll hear something this week. If FAU doesn't work out I believe UM is accepting applications. Though their part time program starts in January, you'll finish in a year & a half. I know 2 girls who are in the program now & they love it ! I learned I couldn't put all my eggs in 1 basket. I applied to other schools. They called me for interviews but I let them know I made a commitment to another school. Applying to more schools leaves the door open. So when one closes, another opens.
I am applying to UM for January just in case. It's where I got my BSN, and I currently work at their hospital, too. But FAU is still my top choice. UM is great, and I know it's a super fast program, and the professors are wonderful, but I don't want to move back to Miami. I also wanted to try a whole different school out. My fingers are still crossed for FAU, but I guess it's nice to know my odds at UM at pretty good, and two of my favorite coworkers are applying for January, too, so that's definitely a bonus. We'll see what happens :/.
Come on FAU, love me!!!!
I was so disappointed when I didn't get accepted at UM. They even rotate you in different specialities so you get a taste of what every specialty has to offer. You don't have to find your own preceptors which I don't believe any other school offers. So nurse girl & others out there, it's something to think about.
Pediatric experience isn't required. During my interview they asked if I had adult experience. I told them I did not. After I received my nursing degree I went straight into peds & been there ever since. They said it was okay & complimented me on my pediatric experience since the program encompasses the family they didn't seem too worried.

Hi,
I called the graduate college & they haven't received anything from nursing. I talked to Karen kasmer & she said even if the graduate college received my acceptance from the committee I still couldn't register for classes because technically the acceptance is for Fall unless I was a non degree graduate student, which I told her I was. So I have to wait until I'm able to register which is 1 week before summer school starts
