FAU BSN 2013-Traditional or Accelerated

U.S.A. Florida

Anyone out there that is applying to start the FAU Nursing program in May 2013? I have submitted my application for the accelerated program. It is the only program I am applying for so I am really hoping to receive an acceptance letter! I realize it will be quite some time until we know either way and thought we could get some conversation going among applicants.

@gonzam57 ... Thanks for checking and sharing! Of course I am guessing they gave no indications as to when? Don't the school know we are going crazy here... lol... Best of luck everyone!

Has anyone received emails today?

Nope nothing yet. Torture!

Hey everyone!

So glad I found this blog. I received my acceptance e-mail yesterday but noticed someone earlier said that orientation was on April 5th, but my e-mail said April 12th. Are there different dates? Just a bit curious. Congrats to everyone and to everyone else, don't lose hope there is plenty of time from now until March 8th and I'm sure people will not be accepting their offers --> leaving you with spots .

@urbana1990 congratulations! did you apply for accelerated or traditional?

My email says the 12th.

My email says the 5th, but that's because I applied for the traditional program :) so Im assuming the 5th for traditional and the 12th for accelerated :)

Has anyone received an email since the initial acceptance letters went out on Sunday? I applied for the accelerated program as well and have not heard anything from them yet either way.

I am getting kind of frustrated. I called and they said, the letters went out. Well even if we didn't get in, let us know! It's much better to just know already. We know some people got in, has anybody gotten another answer yet? Maybe they sent out all the acceptances and are waiting until Friday to send out...the others.

I know it's easier said than done, but try to be patient. Remember that the people working in the admissions process probably have other duties at the college as well.

My GUESS (this is just a guess) is that you won't see another round of acceptance letters until after March 8. You probably won't see any official denied entry letters until after then either.

Hi Urbana1990! Congrats on your acceptance e-mail! I got in too, and I am very happy:) My e-mail said orientation is on April 12th as well.

On another note, what does everyone think about the extended program? I am all for it if it allows us more time for clinicals, etc. Also, does anyone know if the change will impact tuition/overall costs of the program?

I'm almost positive that the school will be charging us for the three additional months, it's basically tacking on another semester. I agree that if that helps us be better prepared and balances our work load better, it's fine with me, although I'm not thrilled about increased cost. I applied to the accelerated and the orientation is the 12th. Those who got letters have until the 8th so I think it makes sense that more letters won't go out until after that date. I know the waiting is the worst!!!!
