  1. Thank you so much!! I'm ready to start classes in June but I kept looking around for schools because St Thomas has a lot of bad reviews and I find that concerning. So funny because when I asked the admissions lady about clinicals she made it sound like they have a big network so finding a place shouldn't be a problem. As far as Wilkes, I read on multiple sites that students sometimes end up paying a few thousands of dollars to a 3rd party company that takes care of finding students places to do clinical hrs. What a mess!
  2. Hello everyone! ? does anyone have any updates about Wilkes University? I am registered, and set to start NP Program at St Thomas but I heard about Wilkes and I'm thinking about switching to them. From what I am reading it seems that they are better than St Thomas as far as teaching and communication. Their classes are 12 weeks instead of 7, which it makes more sense considering the amount of information we will be learning. Any advice? ?
  3. I don't know how to respond to each of you separately...sorry, I don't come on this site often. But I wanted to thank you for taking the time to reply my post. I am starting to think that it comes down to luck. It seems that some instructors are okay, while others don't even bother to teache or even respond emails. Frustrating, and unfair. I have been looking at others online programs but most of them require multiple letters of recommendations from Nurse Practitioners or doctors and that's something that unfortunately I can't provide. The last 7 years I have worked on Home Health so the truth is that I have learned to be very independent, I don't really know many doctors anymore, and they don't know me much either since I'm out on the field. So good recommendation letters would be hard for me to obtain ? As of right now I'm leaning towards St Thomas..I just hope and pray that everything goes smooth if I end up choosing them...
  4. Hello everyone! Just like many of you I am tempted to do the FNP program at St Thomas University. Anyone has any updates as far as this program? From what I read it used to be horrible but they have gotten better? I'm looking at other schools but most of them are very competitive, and I honestly don't want to waste time applying and waiting for answers ? I live in Palm Beach so I like the idea of being kind of close in case I need to go in person? But I am scared and I don't want this experience to end up being a nightmare. Any advice? Thank you!!??
  5. Good luck!:) when did you submit your application? Just wondering if they are going in order?
