FAU Accelerated BSN 2011

Hi I was a current male physical therapy student disappointed with my career choice with a burning passion to be more involved with medicine and taking care of patients. I realized that nursing was a better avenue for what I wanted to do in life (I didn't care to get patients up and walk them, I'd rather be more involved with medical treatment). So I applied to FAU's Accelerated BSN program hoping to be accepted for MAY 2011!!! I will be taking a few more pre-reqs at palm beach state college and hope to hear the good news in February.

Any one else apply?? :coollook:

Hi Mel, Is BC a bachelors program as well?

No, it's an associates but I figure if I don't get into FAU, I can do the associates and then do FAU's combined bachelors/masters program and still finish all three degrees in the same amount of time. The pay difference for the two degrees is only about fifty cents an hour so it's not that huge of a deal and you can do a bridge program online through either BC or FAU if you really want a bachelors without going towards a masters.

Has anyone heard from FAU yet? the waiting is killing me! I wish we knew when exactly we will hear from them.

I called. They said next week. I'm sure if we call next week, they'll say the week after... I just feel sorry for the people who have to put a deposit for UM because FAU can't get their letters out in a timely fashion.

Thank you girls for letting us know! they emailed me back as well and said that hopefully next week we were going to receive an email.

Hopefully? That doesn't sound very promising... They're saying it's bc they have 900 applicants, but isn't that the normal number?

I know... it isn't promising. I read a posting saying they had 1100 applicants last year.. so who knows, I wish they choose fast, 3 months is plenty of time :)

Hi Katie,

I am going to the University of Miami on Monday to pay the $500 deposit. As per the fingerprints and the drug screening, I just received the forms today. I called and they said that as far as I started the process, I will be fine. I just want to make sure that I will not lose my spot because the process with the fingerprints is not complete. did you receive the forms? are you going to be able to provide this information on Monday?
