FAU Accelerated BSN 2011

Hi I was a current male physical therapy student disappointed with my career choice with a burning passion to be more involved with medicine and taking care of patients. I realized that nursing was a better avenue for what I wanted to do in life (I didn't care to get patients up and walk them, I'd rather be more involved with medical treatment). So I applied to FAU's Accelerated BSN program hoping to be accepted for MAY 2011!!! I will be taking a few more pre-reqs at palm beach state college and hope to hear the good news in February.

Any one else apply?? :coollook:

For some reason I thought they were going to send emails, but I probably got FAU confused with UCF. I looked back at the application confirmation from FAU, and it just refers to sending letters out. I am quite a distance from the Boca area, so if is in fact a mailed letter, it will be a few extra days before I receive mine as well.

I think FAU will send e-mails. This is what I was told.

I just called and they said they will e-mail decision letters by the end of next week. This seems like I am going to have to pay the $500 deposit in UM.

oh, that is so disappointing!! i was looking forward to hearing a decision this week. frustrating!! i am sorry you have to pay such a large deposit to um without knowing for sure if you will end up attending.

I know, and I already paid $300 plus $95 for the background check.

What a bummer! Sounds like I will have to go ahead and pay the UM deposit too. I am going to hold off to the last moment though- not paying it before 4 pm on the 28th :) To answer your question about the background check, I am not sure how long it takes. I started mine, but from my understanding I am supposed to receive a fingerprint kit, which still has not come. Hopefully, as long as it is started you don't lose your spot.

This is getting ridiculous!! I already have my orientation for Broward next week and FAU hasn't even sent out decisions?! How are people who end up wait-listed going to have time to get everything done?

I'm waiting to hear from FAU too. I'll post something as soon as I hear from FAU! I'm sorry you guys have to pay for those deposits and background checks. Atleast it is an investment in your future and hopefully it'll pay off. Good Luck everyone. Hang in there!!!

Hey everyone, I applied to FAU as well. The wait is killing me. I hope to hear the news sooner than later, this is way too stressful. My life has been on hold for this decision...ugh

I have all my marbles on FAU i got a 91 average on the HESI and a 3.8 average in all my natural sciences and a 3.2 gpa from my first bachelors. I have to get in and the suspense is killing me. :uhoh3:

I'm in the same spot as you, only I applied and got accepted to BC as well. I'd just prefer FAU because the program is faster.
