FAU Accelerated BSN 2011

Hi I was a current male physical therapy student disappointed with my career choice with a burning passion to be more involved with medicine and taking care of patients. I realized that nursing was a better avenue for what I wanted to do in life (I didn't care to get patients up and walk them, I'd rather be more involved with medical treatment). So I applied to FAU's Accelerated BSN program hoping to be accepted for MAY 2011!!! I will be taking a few more pre-reqs at palm beach state college and hope to hear the good news in February.

Any one else apply?? :coollook:

FAU will tell you they will send the e-mail before March.

I remember I went through the same thing last year...it was valentines weekend people got theirs in an email... Good luck! :)

elb88, how do you like the program? Is it really difficult? It's so hard to wait for an answer when we all know when you all were accepted last year! I wonder if there were less applicants last year and that's why it's taking FAU longer to give decisions?

My second deposit is also due Feb. 28th to UM. I already paid the first $300 and the background check (since it takes time and is also due on the 28th), but I am hoping I don't have to pay the next $500 before hearing from FAU. For those of you who got into UM also, did you apply for the scholarship? I didn't because I heard you are very likely to end up working at the eye institute for 3 years.. and honestly, that is not what I want to do when I get out. I guess I am going to look at taking a loan if I have to :confused:

It's good, I have really liked it for the most part...a lot of work but totally doable, and it will go by super quick! Actually we were told we had 1100 applications for our class so I don't know!

Hi Katie,

I have a question. I just completed the application online to complete the background check. I know I have to send this before the 28th. How long does this take to complete the whole process? I am worried that I do not have enough time. Thanks!

I haven't heard anything and neither have four of my friends who applied. This is starting to get annoying...

well there is two weeks left of february so i'm sure we'll find out this week or the next. I nor any of my friends have found out either so you're not alone.

I just called and they said the letters will be out by Friday.

e-mail letters will be on friday or there will be mailed letters friday? If it's a mailed letter I don't think we would get it until later next week.
