FAU Accelerated BSN 2011

Published

Hi I was a current male physical therapy student disappointed with my career choice with a burning passion to be more involved with medicine and taking care of patients. I realized that nursing was a better avenue for what I wanted to do in life (I didn't care to get patients up and walk them, I'd rather be more involved with medical treatment). So I applied to FAU's Accelerated BSN program hoping to be accepted for MAY 2011!!! I will be taking a few more pre-reqs at palm beach state college and hope to hear the good news in February.

Any one else apply?? :coollook:

They told me 900 combined, and the number of applicants for the traditional program was greater to the number of applicants for the accelerated.

Thank you both for the info.

well...nothing yet. Guess it won't be the same time as last year after all. Hope everyone has a great weekend and that we find out soon!

I just called and they said the decision letters will be emailed anytime this momth. They are not finished yet is what they said. seems like we have to keep waiting.

Same thing they told me last week... still keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be this week, though! The start date is already creeping up fast... they'd better hurry!

Thank you for the update. Every time I get an email alert on my phone I get my hopes up that it is a decision email. Seems like it is going to be awhile still, so I really need to think about something else!

I am getting so unpatient! I wish they would hurry up and send the letters. I have to give UM a deposit on Feb. 28th! Has anyone else had to make deposits elsewhere?

I know!! I don't have to put down any money, but I have to give Broward an answer by today! I think I'm just going to tell them yes and cancel after...

The admissions dept said to a few of us that there will be a response in Feb so UM's deadline won't be an issue.

I know. I already gave a deposit to UM for $300, and they want another one for $500 by the 28th.

I know the feeling... I gave them a deposit last year to defer my enrollment in case I didn't get into BC or FAU this year. I lost the money, but it was well spent for the peace of mind of knowing I had a program.

katie62 I am there with you on the unpatient thing as probably are the other 898 applicants besides the two of us. I think last year's applicants were more persistant to get their response by the 11th last year. I have yet to call them but definitely might if I don't hear anything by friday.

Katie and Maria, I am in the same position with sending UM the deposit. I haven't called FAU yet, but I called UCF yesterday and they said that they aren't sending out decisions until MID MARCH! So annoying. I'm going down to check out UM next week, and i'll probably send my deposit soon after to secure my spot.
