FAU Accelerated BSN 2011

Published

Hi I was a current male physical therapy student disappointed with my career choice with a burning passion to be more involved with medicine and taking care of patients. I realized that nursing was a better avenue for what I wanted to do in life (I didn't care to get patients up and walk them, I'd rather be more involved with medical treatment). So I applied to FAU's Accelerated BSN program hoping to be accepted for MAY 2011!!! I will be taking a few more pre-reqs at palm beach state college and hope to hear the good news in February.

Any one else apply?? :coollook:

I applied at FAU for the traditional program 2011.By any chance ,do you know how much is the tuition per year, total or semester?I called their nursing office and they said that the results will be out on March 1st.

I heard from someone that the price for tuition was about 6k but i'm not sure, it's probably higher. and what results come out, the admissions? I heard people last year found out around valentines day. March 1st seems late, I hope it comes soon!!

That would be great if they let us know around Valentine's Day! That would only be a few more weeks of waiting! I have a feeling Feb. is going to go by so slow with all this anticipation. I checked out Boca Raton over Christmas break, and it seemed really nice. I decided not to apply to UF. I didn't really like the area, and I was having a rough time with the GRE vocab. So, I am down to UCF, FAU, USF, and I will probably apply to the traditional BSN program where I live now just in case nothing else works out.

I know last year some people received decision letters by the second week of February. Good luck!

I personally loved living in gainesville for undergrad. So many people your age with similar interests. So many people to many and to experience life with. A college town is really great, especially when you're 18 to 22+. However, I also decided not to apply to UF because I live and work in Boca and want to stay in the area. I love boca, especially west boca and wouldn't want to go any where else. I hope we get in!!

I am sure it would be a fun area for the college-aged group, but I am not exactly a spring chicken anymore, lol. I am going to be 29 later this year. We were looking for some nice subdivisions to rent or buy a house that were not too far from the school, but we just couldn't find anything we liked. Applying to UF just ended up having too many negative factors overall compared to the other schools. I am sure it is a wonderful school though, and if my circumstances were different it would probably be a better option.

I think most of the areas we looked at in Boca were on the west side. I liked that the Boca area didn't seem that spread out, and there seemed to be quite a few neighborhoods not far from the university. We actually drove down to Miami Beach on our little excursion, and it was so nice I couldn't believe it! The water was such a beautiful blue-green. We live on the panhandle right now, and we have the nice white sandy beaches, but that water made ours look like pond scum!

I'm also waiting to hear back from FAU! Good luck to everyone : )

Just to add my 2 cents the email I received said we should be hearing something in mid-Feb. Considering FAU seems to be more organized than other nursing programs, I believe we should hear something soon. Good Luck to all!

Did anyone hear from FAU yet?? I am nervous!! I hope we know something before the end of February

Not yet! I hope they let us know soon!

nothing yet. Last year, the first notfications were sent on Febryary 11th.

Me, too!! I have to give Broward College an answer before the 16th and FAU is my first choice.
