FAU 2016 ABSN Applicants

Published

Applications are open for the accelerated track! The deadline is in less than a month.

I am currently working on my application. I created this thread to reach out to other applicants and potential future classmates. We could provide support and feedback to one another while we apply/wait for acceptance letters.

I have 4.0 GPA in the science courses. Other pre-reqs -- A's except for 2 B's and 1 B+

I took the TEAS twice. I ran out of time the first time and did not get the grade I expected. I was devastated. The second time I took it, I did well and scored in the 99th percentile.

What is your current situation? I confess I am pretty nervous.

Do you know if we have to include references in NursingCas??

Best of luck to all applicants!

@wellthisisfun

I spoke with them yesterday. I think I've finally got everything uploaded. I kind of want to rush it now just to make sure everything has been inputted correctly and gives me enough time to correct it if it does fail review.

@roch320 I look forward to meeting you as well. I am not entirely sure what you mean. The TB test they inject you twice: the placement and then after a week they check it and do another placement and after another week you get the second placement checked. Then that's I believe!

For my TB test I was only injected once and then told to come back in three days so that they can determine the results. they then signed off and said there was no need for me to come back in a week. Is this not correct?

@asanti12 no! it is not. you need a double. so, first part was done, but you need to go back a week (up to 3 if it had been over that) later and get it done again. then, the second reading a couple of days later will insure that you did a double PPD. the whole process takes as little as 9 days to complete this portion properly.

@wellthisisfun,

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. There is not way I'll have that done before everything is due. I'll have to reach out to Colleen.

@asanti12 are you sure? if you got the first prick done Monday or before, it is possible to make it by the 18th. speaking of which: the e-mail Colleen sent out had the 15th and the 18th listed. has anyone verified which?

@ wellthisisfun, I've emailed Colleen and I am waiting on a reply regarding the due date. I'm a little worried so I hope there is a little bit of flexibility here. I've been working full time and in school full time as well so fitting these thing into my schedule has been pretty tough. I hope my PCP will squeeze me in for a second TB prick today! Fingers crossed!

@wellthisisfun I haven't verified. I just figured she meant the 15th and went with it... I just thought that all the the items under clinical requirements were due on the 15th and the rest could be due on the 18th... I could be wrong.

@asanti12 I know how you feel. I'm working full-time for the time being as well and it's been a hassle having to take time off from work. I had to take a half day to get everything done and, of course, I also have a vacation I've had planned since July this weekend. So I wanted to make sure I got every thing done before leaving.

I emailed her about the confusion involving the dates and she reply with the 18 (No exceptions)

And thanks for clearing up, the TB testing, I'll have to get my second round this weekend!

Happy Wednesday guys and Breathe we all got through the tough part, This part is a breeze! lol

@roch320 Good thing you verified! It's OK though I got everything done already. I'm just waiting for Certified Profile to verify my stuff now and seeing if I need to correct anything so I have enough time to do so.

It's almost over :)

I was told by my PCP I cannot get my second TB shot until next Monday and then at that point they can do the final reading that Wednesday the 18th.. That will be cutting it very close! I emailed Colleen and I haven't heard back yet, I'm sure she is being bombarded by everyone with emails! I don't get why the 15th was mentioned if we are still able to submit until the 18th. I'm still worried. I would hate for things that I am in the process of completing to keep me from pursuing the program. Fingers crossed!
