FAU 2016 ABSN Applicants

Published

Applications are open for the accelerated track! The deadline is in less than a month.

I am currently working on my application. I created this thread to reach out to other applicants and potential future classmates. We could provide support and feedback to one another while we apply/wait for acceptance letters.

I have 4.0 GPA in the science courses. Other pre-reqs -- A's except for 2 B's and 1 B+

I took the TEAS twice. I ran out of time the first time and did not get the grade I expected. I was devastated. The second time I took it, I did well and scored in the 99th percentile.

What is your current situation? I confess I am pretty nervous.

Do you know if we have to include references in NursingCas??

Best of luck to all applicants!

Congrats to everyone! I feel like we are all already friends lol don't give up guys!

Congratulations everyone! I can't wait to meet you all! For those who are wait-listed or did not get in don't be discouraged, this is only the beginning of your journey.

Cannot wait to meet everyone!! Congratulations!!! :)

Is anyone signing up for the CPR class? I called and they've advised that they're only offering it on Nov. 13th.

hi @Asanti12,

I had signed up for yesterday's CPR class at FAU but they canceled it. You can also take it at American heart association (BLS for Healthcare Providers)

Hi everyone!

I am just joining this thread now. I just took my BLS class this morning with a different company and got my card afterward. I am so nervous about getting all this blood work done though. I am currently working a 9-5 so it's hard to do things without taking time out of work. Not to mention I am also going out of town on Nov 12-16 and I've had this trip planned since July. So I'm really trying to hustle to get everything done before I leave.

I freaked out too when I saw all of the blood work requirements haha. The good thing is that your MMR, Varicella, and Tetnus have probably already been done. You can sign a waiver for now for the Hep B, so just get your Flu shot and TB test and good to go! I don't have my childhood records for my shots, so I asked my provider to order labs to test for the antibodies of the titered vaccines.

The drug test and fingerprinting is making me nervous because they have to mail the forms to me all they way in Hawaii. I will fed ex my results back of course, I just hope the forms get to me in time.

Anyone know why some of the forms say to upload to "Magnus"? Is this real or did they just forget to change it to "Upload to Certified Profile"?

hey there! Magnus used to be the name of the company. you're doing the right thing :)

Yeah, I'm gonna try to get my records from my pediatrician's office to make sure I'm not missing anything. Just in case one of my vaccinations is out of date but, I'm pretty sure every thing is up to date (hopefully). I need to speak with my PCP to get an order for titers as well. That's the task for Monday. Also, I need to get my drug test done first thing before work and, hopefully, I'll get the order for my blood work and get it done at the hospital right after. Should get the results the next day!

Good thing you mentioned the Magnus. I was wondering the same thing.

We got this! :)

Another question, do they start reviewing your stuff as soon as you upload it on CP? Or do they only starting reviewing once every single thing has been uploaded to CP? The stuff that I have sent has been "pending review" since Nov 5.

this is how it was explained to me: they have different reviewers going at different times for the approvals and it can take up to 72 hours. if it is passed that (I assume not including weekends), you can call and they will push your application to be reviewed

Hey lovelies!

Congrats to all! Excited to meet you all!!

I'm kinda confused about the TB test. Online it says (1-3 weeks apart). Does this mean we have to take two 2-step tb test (placement and reading) at least a week apart?
