FAU 2016 ABSN Applicants

Published

Applications are open for the accelerated track! The deadline is in less than a month.

I am currently working on my application. I created this thread to reach out to other applicants and potential future classmates. We could provide support and feedback to one another while we apply/wait for acceptance letters.

I have 4.0 GPA in the science courses. Other pre-reqs -- A's except for 2 B's and 1 B+

I took the TEAS twice. I ran out of time the first time and did not get the grade I expected. I was devastated. The second time I took it, I did well and scored in the 99th percentile.

What is your current situation? I confess I am pretty nervous.

Do you know if we have to include references in NursingCas??

Best of luck to all applicants!

The wait has finally begun . Good luck to everyone

Hey Guys ! I know that everyone is not really sociable on this forum. But I'm literally replaying my interviewing over in my head and dissecting it apart , which is making the wait even worse and its only been 4 days . Also, I noticed there were all lot of applicants there for interview . Could it be possible that the college was interviewing both traditional and accelerated applicates on that day ?

Hi @me10,

I have been checking my emails and NursingCas incessantly. I feel the same way. All the applicants I spoke with were going for the accelerated program.

My group was strong and well prepared for the interview. I feel I did okay but I could have answered some questions better if I were not as nervous.. I also thought that whoever went first gave the following participants ideas, time, and ways to improve their answer. In the end of the day, we all did our best and I am sure the results will be fair. I am just hoping they will let us know the answer as soon as possible!!

@me10 and @Nurse_ForLife, I must say i am pretty anxious myself! I felt that the interview went as well as it could have given the fact that I was extremely nervous. I was looking back at the forum from last year's ABSN program and they made them wait two weeks! I'm hoping things move a little faster this time around because that's just brutal! The believe they were only interviewing accelerated students. One of the interviewers on my panel said she had a list of 54 students so I'm wondering if that was 54 total for the program or just 54 for their group. I think there were more than one set of interviewers so if they both had about the same number of students to interview that would mean we are up against a pretty large group!

Wow, @asanti12, I was hoping that it was both traditional and accelerated interviewing. I noticed based on last year forum that the admission notifications went out on Nov. 8th, but I'm hoping we will get an answer by Monday . @ nurse_forlife your completely right all we could've done was our best and I felt like I did. I'm praying that we all get in this program.

hey all! rest assured we have done all we can do! they said it can take up to 3 weeks to be notified. nursingCAS finally verified all of my transcripts today. but, I'm in the same boat. waiting and ready to hear! good luck to all of you and I hope to meet y'all

Hi @asanti12,

How many interviewers were there? there was only one interviewer in my group..

@nurse_forlife I know the question wasn't directed to me , but I had two interviewer , Ms. Streaty and a assistant professor and there were a total of 5 interviewee with myself included.

@me10, it looks like we had the same set up. 5 of us and 2 of them and the same exact interviewers. Were you in the 8:30 group or 9:30 group? I was trying to spot people out but it was near impossible since there were so many people!

@asanti12 I was a part of the 8:30 group . I felt like I was part of the first group of names to be called out that morning .

Yesssss!!!!!!!Check your emails!!!!!

Well, I was wait listed. Congratulations to everyone accepted.
