FAU 2014 ABSN applicants

I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.

I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.

yeah I am wondering if we have to get the stethoscope there along with blood pressure cuff...amazon sells them pretty decently. I just feel like it can't be astronomical because they said you can bring cash

also, is anyone else not able to access my fau? I have yet to access my email through them or do anything part of the school officially

Brianna, I had the same problem and had to call FAU to get my login information. Just have your Z number handy! :)

By the way, I'll be making the trek from Gainesville to Stuart on Friday afternoon and from there to Boca Saturday morning if any of you Gville peeps need a ride/place to stay!

I was thinking about doing the class on a Sunday because my Saturdays are very busy. Possibly on April 6th in the afternoon. Maybe it will work out if we can get a few more people.

I am going USF in the summer but I live in north lauderdale/tamarac area. I need to take a CPR bls class also, are you still doing one this Sunday?? Message me if so because I need to do one ASAP! :)
