FAU 2014 ABSN applicants

Published

I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.

I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.

I'm so sorry to hear that. :( Best of luck next year Katherine!

Thanks!! Super nervous and excited

I can't wait to meet everyone! It will be nice to put some faces to the names. :)

Has anyone else heard anything today? I feel like time is rather short at this point if they are still sending out interviews...

I feel so naive, but do I need to wear pantyhose with a pencil skirt?

Me again! For any of you that have not already posted it and have an interview for ABSN, can you post for science and overall GPA, as well as TEAS scores? Thanks so much!!

I think that's a personal choice, heather. I don't really ever see people wearing pantyhose in south Florida due to the heat, but it's up to you I think.

Hi everyone. I am also in the 9:15 am group. It will be great to meet everyone. Since I work on campus, I don't see myself getting lost lol :)

I wonder if there is an 11:15 time slot? So far it only looks like 3 slots (8:15, 9:15, 10:15). I'm very curious about how they are going to interview 80 applicants with so few time slots. XD It will be interesting to see how it all works out.

Well Dr. D during one of the nursing session said they are kinda completing the interview process like UNF does for their Nursing Program. So based on what other trends have said, they had multiple groups interviewing at the same time just in different rooms. So that could be one way of interviewing everyone.

That makes the most sense. It really is a lot of people to interview! Well, tomorrow is the day. Best of luck everyone! I look forward to meeting those interviewing at 9:15. :)

The email said to park in Lot 1, but if I remember correctly, that's a non-metered, student parking lot. I guess they'll notify parking enforcement of the occasion?

Let's hope so! I think there are meters at the front by nursing, but the email didn't mention it. :\
