I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.
I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.
I really hope being on this blog helps!! FAU is really the only school I'm applying to for the accelerated program. Having kids here in Boca, I really feel like it is where I'm supposed to be. Not to mention, the whole holistic component is just so me. I'm wondering how the email will come through...whether it will be through CAS or actual email? Or both?
So from last year and this year, what have you changed in your application? If you don't mind me asking. . . what were your stats like last year vs this year?
So I didn't make any changes which I am kind of regretting now. My GPA was 3.85 (I had one b+ ... maybe I should have retaken that class... eeek) and my TEAS was 99th percentile... positive thoughts to everyone!

That's crazy with those stats I really couldn't find any reason why it was necessary to make improvements. . after seeing all you guys report having test scores in the 99th percentile. . . I just applied as a transfer student to FIU to start this application process all over again =)
Aww I know what she went through :/ it was crushing. But one thing I will say is that most of the people that participated in the blog are the ones that got accepted, so maybe this site brings us good luck or something! :-P
Well, this makes me feel obligated to increase my activity on here!! I can't believe that people were denied with a 3.85 and 99th percentile TEAS! I'm working with a 3.86 Science GPA and a 98th percentile TEAS...so now I'm nervous!!
Seriously y'all! It took me forever to reapply (I submitted last minute) and i wasnt as worried as last round... I was going through this whole wasn't meant to be, maybe I am meant for a different path thing... based on the fact that I am now having small heart palpitations every time my phone buzzes... I am going to confirm my laize fair attitude was a defense mechanism... and I kind of want it back... ahhhh... freaking out!
So, tomorrow is my first day off since Christmas (changed my schedule all around in prep. for the 21st) I'm going to try really hard not to check my email every five minutes so I can just enjoy it. Ha! I feel, from what I'm hearing, compared to last year I'm on the cusp. I have a 3.9 science GPA and 97th percentile TEAS. I have a goal to not check until after 3 but who am I kidding, lol!
