FAU 2014 ABSN applicants

I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.

I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.

Well now I'm freaking out. Lol. I wasn't aware of these issues either. I'm thinking this is going to be a widespread issue amongst applicants, so hopefully we won't be penalized for it. I don't know what I will do with myself if this ruins my chances.

Has anyone spoken with someone from the CoN at FAU about this?

My TEAS is not under additional information it is under tests section. I had trouble uploading it and nursing cas added it there. There is no option to add additional info ...it says no information to display.

Im sure it will be fine. Im not worried about it now.

I called and they had to add my id for me (once you submit your application there is no longer an option to add additional info). My TEAS was designated and had my FAU ID on it, so I'm hoping that's sufficient.

I did email CoN and was told to check back with Nursing CAS about where info should be input. I'm hoping what I have done is sufficient, nothing else I can do at this point. They said this is the first year they have required the Z#. Hoping I'm not the only one that had this issue. My TEAS was taken at FAU and sent to FAU but not uploaded in the document uploads until now. We will see! Come on February 14th!!

I had the same issue Katherine. I think since they are still trying to work out how to use NursingCAS we won't be penalized for it. It will just help them make instructions clearer next year.

I did not even place my Z number in NursingCAS; however, I'm guessing that as a former student, that information will be readily available to them. Like you said, there was not a specific place to input the number. Perhaps next year they will make it a required spot like the rest of the information that we were required to input.

On a different note, this last week is going to drag by so slowly! Best of luck to all of you!

+1 for people unaware of inputting the Z number. I contacted NursingCAS this morning and was told to put it in a Word file and add it to the Documents section.

I also uploaded my TEAS but did not know it had to be designated to FAU , just did it. So frustrating!

I just recieved an FAU admission acceptance email (which I been recieved a few months ago) I got excited for no reason lol I wonder y they sent that to me now...did anyone else recieve anything similar??? oh boy did that hurt by the way lmao
