FAU 2014 ABSN applicants

I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.

I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.

I'm almost positive that they notify us by email, so keep those eyes peeled! Dr. Dormire said we should find out within the next week or so ahhhhh

I wonder if they will send out rejection letters as well. . .

As far as I know they do. I would think it would be a mass bcc email or something.

Thanks so much to Dr. D for posting about not only the application (and letting go of the stress) but also about the program in general! I have to say that reading her kind words just make me want to get into this program even more! And while I'm trying not to stress, I just had a moment while looking at the app page where I realized that I never enter my FAU Z# anywhere. Does anyone recall/know where that information is supposed to go? I definitely don't think I ever saw a spot for it.

I actually couldnt locate any place on the application for that number so I added a document in the forms section that had my Z number. Nursing Cas told me that would be fine.

Oh wow, I would not have thought about doing that! OK I emailed FAU to check and see. The things you think about while obsessing on getting in. Anyone else enter their Z#?

katherine_q I did exactly the same as you. I thought there would be a place for it and didn't give it much thought until after I submitted. I think it may just be important that we have one but please let me know if you discover otherwise. Thanks for bringing that up!

There is a spot on nursing CAS to input it . If you call nursing CAS they will walk you thru it!!

OK that's concerning. They are closed today but I guess I will see if I can call and input tomorrow. If anyone on here can advise where the spot is, would be great!

I believe it's not in the main application (since that can go to multiple schools). I think it was located in the part of the app where you submitted FAU as your designation. That's my guess anyway, I submitted back in October so I cannot recall exactly.

I just looked where I entered it. It's located in the additional information section of the application. I'm sorry I don't know how to enter it nursing CAS walked me thru it.

I spoke with Nursing CAS this morning. It seems that there were two option, add a section in additional information to add ID number or upload a document. Also while doing this, it seems that while my TEAS information was in there and TEAS test pages document were uploaded, they were not "designated" to FAU. All is designated now. So frustrating as I really thought that I had checked/re-checked to make sure everything was correct/complete and now this. I hope these items don't prevent me from getting an interview. Thanks everyone for clarification.
