Fastest & Easiest RN-BSN program online?

I'm ready to enroll in an online BSN program.

I was leaning towards Grand Canyon University, but I just chatted with someone who told me she had to write extensive papers almost every week. That seems like too much!

I understand nursing school is hard, I did the LVN-RN step-up program, and eventually want to get my Masters, but the program I'm looking at requires a BSN first.

Any advice is appreciated, I'm looking for as simple and fast as possible. Of course I'd like to have a reasonable cost as well.

Specializes in Operating room..

Tests yes, clinicals no, but there are some " projects" that you have to do like teaching older people on a topic, spending some time with an advanced practice nurse, etc. My papers ranged from 3-25 pages (that is just me though). I went part time and finished in just over 2 years. I'm going back for my MSN this fall.

Specializes in Home Health, Podiatry, Neurology, Case Mgmt.

ditto what thenursemandy posted, I too went through Excelsiors BSN program. I took 3-4 classes each term, worked full time M-F 8-6 and have three kids and got a 3.8 by the time I graduated. There aren't a lot of tests, and there are a few papers to write for different courses, one or two has some group work/paper but we always got A's. learned alot, took me 16 mo start to finish. Chose my own pre-reqs other than the English, Stats, and Ethics course are required for all BSN students. There are some RN to MSN options at Excelsior, as well as other schools too.

Specializes in med/surg/tele/neuro/rehab/corrections.

I too need to finish my degree RN-BSN. I was checking out United States University since I would only have to do nursing classes and not a bunch more pre-reqs.

Does anyone else know of a program that you only take nursing courses?

I've heard that U of P is easiest but costly

Yes, did you ever find one and go with it? HELP in deciding also...

Specializes in Behavioral Health.

I am going to Boise State. Had to take statistics and the rest are nursing classes. It will take me 15 months total. Great communication with faculty and inexpensive.

Specializes in CRRN.

How long did it take you?

I applied to WGU and they tried to tell me all my courses were ok except I needed "bio chemistry" or so they stated. I told them I already had chemistry and they stated the course plan on my chemistry class didn't meet their required curriculum. However 2 of their current students took my same chemistry class with the same instructor...one was even my lab partner. I appealed their decision and my appeal was denied. I am not taking bio chemistry! so I am still currently to find a program to fit my needs. I had even taken the statistics class they suggested for their college....hope its accepted by the other college I attend.

Hi Tasha, I have a quick question for you. Which collage did you do your RN - BSN program? By your description above, it looks like it was a great collage! I want to do my BSN online. Please advice. I did my RN at Keiser University Orlando, they have a RN-BSN online program but its so damn expensive and it's 2 years NONE-STOP. Please talk to me sista!

I had serious doubts about being able to finish an RN-to-BSN program. I'm working full-time and have a baby. I started to look for easy online RN-to-BSN Programs and had a mentor of mine recommend Nightingale College. They partner with rural hospitals and help them build their own nursing staff. The RN-to-BSN program is all online and fully accredited and cost $375/semester credit. I didn't need to take any additional GEs, so I completed their program in 8 months. It cost me around 9k for the program.

They have a capstone project that is amazing and I would highly recommend checking out the BSN program: RN-to-BSN Bridge Program - Nightingale College

I attended Nightingale College and their RN-to-BSN program is all online, and I finished in 2 semesters (8 months). I didn't need to take any additional GEs and paid around 9k. It was an amazing program and I'm being considered for the DON role. Best decision I ever made.

How diffucult was Boise University? I am looking into that program and it seems very good!

WOW!!, they just lost accreditation on April 20, 2020. I am looking at this thread as I am looking for ASN to BSN on line now, in 2020...

Excelsior’s BSN and MSN programs are not affected by the accreditation situation with the ASN program, and the ASN program is still acceptable in some states.
